In a new plan I had to install my libraries -- Manufacturer Catalogs as well as my User Catalog.
Question 1
How can I make these always install when opening a new plan?
Question 2
I went into set up my default for interior doors but when I clicked on Catalog my Manufacturers Catalog was not available. Why not as I just loaded it?
Thanks

Okay thanks David

But I stuck at it and finally go it right. Biggest issue was the terrain.

Okay thanks David -- I did attempt but as you said it is tedious.

You know I never have much luck with auto build unless it's a fairly simple house. It's a good starting point for you to edit the roof planes manually.

PS
Eric
I have posted plans before when they are still open -- maybe because I use the Mac version.

Thanks for that video. I have no idea how all those break points came from on the curved retaining wall as all I drew was a curved wall.
If you saved the edited plan would you be so kind to post it.
Thanks

That's what I do. Problem is that I have a transom above and two fixed panes below and they often don't get picked up. I guess I could go to an elevation view and copy all the windows but I'm not sure that I can go back to plan and paste them.

Can someone please take a look at my plan. I cannot seem to get the retaining wall to join to the house wall -- see screen shot.
Thanks

That is correct but the OP needs to check that list to see if he has a program that doesn't work. I have not upgraded as Quicken doesn't currently work and I need that to pay my bills.

If I'm understanding you correctly then in plan view with Roof Planes turned on -- just pull the face of the plane toward the wall OR move your cursor over the dimension and change it to zero.

I'm confused..., isn't mulling just a group a smaller windows (and doors) making up one larger one? I do that all the time in Arch and Pro versions by just dragging the windows/doors into each other so they merge. Is this what we're trying to do here?
Kyle
Are you saying that they stay as one unit once you do that?

Look at post #9. I changed the Scale to be 10" for X and Y from the default of 20. The 10" was just a guess from looking at the image, with a single brick being 7-1/2" long.
I'll bet you have Stretch To Fit checked.
Eric
I used 7.5 in both axis and I think it looks okay. I'll play around with it some more.
Thanks for yours and Kats help

Okay I took Kats advice and found a site called TextureMate http://texturemate.com/content/seamless-brick-1-free-texture-pack and they had one that was pretty close and it renders fine.

Kat is correct, But it does not look too bad, as long as you look from a distance. I just guessed at the size of the image -- 10"x10", which needs to be adjusted.
I've never done this, so don't have much to contribute.
Eric
What values in that window did you use to get that effect because all I get is what's shown on the screenshot the pattern fitting the whole wall?

The issue with modifying an existing brick -- in my case Mixed Brick is that mine is darker but also has dark brown brick mixed in.

That's an acceptable file type. Are you sure you were in the correct directory? Did you try typing in the complete filename instead of choosing from the list?
Eric
No I just chose it from the list -- the only choices I have are Library Materials and Plan Materials. I don't know where the Library Materials are located to find the actual file path.
The other odd thing is I can open an elevation view, click the material and paste it onto the wall. However when I go to the doll house view it shows up as a small object and it's angles through the wall. The size is what I set in the material definitions window and I used the actual size of the photo I took 11" wide X 4.5" high.

Eric
The help section for adding a custom material doesn't specify the file type. I tried to add the brick.jpeg but it didn't see it so I'm assuming a JPEG is not an acceptable file type.
Alan
Edit
Actually it does add it to the Materials folder in the User Catalog but when I try to apply it to a wall that file doesn't show up as being selectable.

I would check to see if your other devices and apps will still work. Check this out.http://forums.macrumors.com/threads/os-x-el-capitan-working-not-working-apps.1890772/

No, When you 'save as' in Skecthup you have to select which version ie: 2015, 2014 etc: Use the drop down list.
Any version you "save as" will work in HD
Okay thanks for that.

Window in Curved Wall
in Q&A

I'm trying to reproduce what's shown in this photo but it will not let me put either a bay or boxed window in a curved wall. Is there a way around this?
Thanks
Alan
