These are barstools that are clearly shorter than the counter height, but show up above the counter in plan. How do I correct this?
-
Couldn't find anything on this... are these possible? thanks

My first thought was to create a light that can be seen in different views by attaching it to something that was. However, I'd like to know how to create a library object that includes a light.
-
Well that's certainly not nothing.

There is, clearly, a location "axis" in camera view... Eric, do you not believe me? Anyway - how does one go about creating their own "fixture" library object? I want to be able to control/move my lighting from any view. I tried creating a block, which didn't work, and can't find a way to group things.
-
Hi David, I've already made them visible - I can clearly see the red "axes" of the lights, but can't select them or tab to them in camera view. It just cycles between walls, cabinets, etc., but not the light symbol. Not sure why they wouldn't be visible in elevation views.
-
Ok, thanks... I simply can't select in camera view, and I believe can only tab-select in plan view. I can't find a way to get them visible in elevation.

Trying to figure out why the Wolf rangetops are coming in so small... Here's a default range on the left, Wolf on the right.

Hi Eric, I can see where the files are, but they all seem to be in .calib format.
-
Thanks Eric - Ok, I see how to do that, but once placed (within a room) I can no longer select it, nor see it in any view other than plan. I have all visibility turned on. It also appears to be having no effect in the scene.

Hi David, Where is this found? (3D-Lighting) I can't locate it.

I'd like better renderings that what's available inside HDP, but can only export .stl files. So... when in other software, I'd like to be able to use the same base textures I'm assigning in HDP, but can't find them / figure out if they're accessible in a folder somewhere... Can this be done? thanks

Things don't always line up / snap like I want them to. If I were able to draw reference lines, it would largely resolve that, but maybe I can do that using CAD shapes. SketchUp and form-z both implement guides pretty nicely, especially the tape measure of SketchUp.
-
Hey guys, Not really a reference grid (though I do like using them) - more like a temporary layout I can use for reference until I'm ready to go. Not sure what the official term is for it, but when I drafted, I'd work in light blue pencil before inking. Yes, ink... Something like the attached image - though, I think I'll try using a reference layer, as that may do the trick.
-
Ok - tried these out... does Home Designer Pro allow selective molding in a room (just some walls) ?
-
I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to create bluelines (as we used to call them) - which was basically creating layout lines before drawing with ink... In practicing by drawing my own home (as well as practicing other stuff), there are some areas I'd like to lay out with guides before creating any geometry. I know there are some basic lines and shapes that end up on the CAD layer, but if I have a CAD as a reference, it can be a bit of a pain. What are the most common ways of doing this? thanks

Thanks guys! Both look great. I'm a bit.. ah... well, call it what you like, but a 1/64" gap drives me crazy cheers Andrew

Hi Eric - sure thing - here you go. About as simple as it gets. wall-change-test.plan

I'm trying to build a glass shower enclosure and have looked through a bunch of posts. I can't find a way to have a continuous run of walls in which there is a transition from a standard framed wall to a glass wall without the end of the framed wall being exposed... any help appreciated!

Hi Eric - I've got it now, but what I was looking for (or, rather, what I found) was "Bumping/Pushing" and "CAD Stops Move/Wall Stops Move". Cheers Andrew

Hi all, I haven't found the answer I'm seeking, but I did find that there seems to be a bug; when I define/redefine finishes for cabinets, it doesn't update the doors unless I replace the cabinets (see upper cabinets in attached). Not sure what's supposed to happen here because now when I update the default, nothing happens at all. To be clear, I understand how to set/edit defaults. I'm trying to figure out if I can: 1) Edit the defaults and have that change automatically update all cabinets placed with defaults 2) Create a custom cabinet, save the style, and apply this to other cabinets 3) Revert individual cabinets to default As noted, I don't know the terminology, have looked, and haven't found answers. Knowing what things are called is key; for example, if I'm trying to "duplicate" something, I won't find it in a search. If I know or somehow stumble upon using "replicate" I'm in luck... thanks

Ok, great... so, what is the function/feature called? I don't post questions for which I haven't tried to find an answer.

I have base cabinets I like, but, for some reason, the wall cabinets don't match. Is there a quick way to make the design and finishes of the cabinets match? thanks
