  1. I think I've done this but can't remember how it was done .

I want to create an overhead view looking straight down at the house roof so I can add details etc.

    Thanks

  2. I am trying to change a foundation on a new home , a lot of the foundation is 10" concrete block 6 courses with 2" rigid foam insulation on the inside . I need to change a few walls to 8" concrete block but when I highlight the wall and  change all the walls change but I only highlighted that one wall.

What do I do differently to change one wall at a time ?

    Thanks.

  3. Hi folks , Just a question before I mess up . I've done a plan with an 8/12 pitch throughout hip and gable roof styles . My question is … is it possible to change the pitch on the whole roof from 8/12 to 9/12 without going to each section and changing manually , can it be done through preferences . Just asking before I attempt .

    Thanks.

More coffee? Your walls are set as invisible and Siding-6.

Yes I know but when I delete the invisible walls the concrete for the porch deletes also. .

Whatever you named your saved-as .plan file, search for that name using "Windows Search" of My Documents. If you lost it, you lost it but it is most likely there, just now where you thought it was.

OK I looked under windows search in my documents and found the file that was saved as "FRONT ELEVATION" clicked on it and the floor plan opens not a front elevation. Never happened to me like that before , I hope it isn't a glitch in the program.

  7. I am completing a plan and working to do a FRONT ELEVATION , got it complete and pushed "save as" and saved it into my documents like I think I should and named it front elevation , closed the program to do something else , re-started the program later to bring up the front elevation , pressed open plan file and went to front elevation file opened it and the floor plan popped up but it says front elevation on the saved file . Now I can't find my front elevation plan. :(

What did I do wrong as I worked 4 hours on this and don't want to start over.

  8. Yes I know about the different pitches and I will try to clean them up , The customer wants the ridges to match which of course because of the different widths of the home it changes the pitch.

    Thanks for your help.

  9. I've got 2 bedrooms out of 4 that I cannot open the room Specifications to , all other rooms and hallway etc. open fine but these 2 bedrooms will not open when clicked on . Everything looks attached and proper.

What could be the problem ?

  10. I am trying to build an attic truss over the garage on a 2 story home , garage is one floor attached with attic trusses coming off the second floor of the home . When I try to do the attic trusses as it says to do in the manual for Home Designer Pro 2020 it tells me I can't have more then 5 floors ?????

I have a 2 story home with garage …. What the heck is the problem ?

  11. OK now this this is going to sound dumb and I should know this but I am having issues here.

HOW Do you change wall heights ? , I know 9' walls are by default but I want to change to 8' wall heights and can't seem to make it work. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

  12. I am trying to place Dormers in my roof and when I do it shows the framing through the windows in other words the roof opening does not get cut out. What have I done wrong ?

Also what is the difference between "auto floating dormers" and "auto dormers".

    Thanks.

  13. Hello again , I just transferred my license to a different computer , so how do I transfer all my data like plan files , layout files etc. I don't see a way.

    think

This is not really a question but just a thought . Before you all get confused and discouraged , just sit back and relax and think how the "program" works and not how you think it should work. … LOL.

  14. If I build a second floor it puts in  8' walls, how do I get around that ? It's been a long day and I can't seem to wrap my head around this.
