    HRV

I am looking for an HRV symbol in the library and can't seem to find one . Is there a symbol somewhere I am missing ?

    Labels

The only way I have been able to do that is when opening up the item's label tab in the DBX is to either tap the space bar to move it horizontally or the enter key to move it down further. I suppose you could also set the item to not show the label and enter a text description at the size font you desire and place it manually?

Thanks , I may create my own text. as you say .

Is it possible to move the Label descriptions of objects such as Duplex Rec. or Smoke Det. closer to the actual object , mine seem to be to far from the actual object and interfere with other objects close by. I have looked but can't seem to find a way to move the label closer.

Yes, it is called CAD drafting work :)  There is no trick or tip involved, such things can be downloaded from the WWW and then edited but I usually just create them from scratch using 2D CAD tools and Text, it is what draftspersons do for a living.

Finally figured it out , I had a senior moment I think but got it now , Thanks :)

It looks like to me that the detail is an image or PDF as opposed to a CAD detail created of 2D lines, arcs and text. Images, PDFs are pixel-based and thus tend to blur or pixelate whereas 2D CAD lines and Text do not.

Yes it is a PDF . That is the problem ?

Could you possibly show tips on creating a section view using a CAD detail method , I am not sure if I've tried that.

  3. I have been trying to mull together a double casement window 48" wide x 42" tall to an upper transom fixed window 48" x 14". I have created both but they will not mull together , I am trying to make this window one unit to add to my library . HELP !!

All you needed to do was to open the room dbx, and specify "roof over this room".

    THANKS I totally missed that.

Is there some reason you're not using the the polygon shaped deck tool, listed under the build>railing and deck> polygon shaped deck?

That is what I used but it did not give me a roof , I had to use manual roof tools.

    Unless I did something wrong.

  6. I have a question for all my fellow Canadian users .

How do you do your plans , METRIC or Imperial ?

I have been in the construction trades in building , estimating and drawing of plans etc for the biggest part of my life. and very seldom come across Metric Plans and yet to be able to do plans in Ontario (where I live) I must have a B.C.I.N. number and the exam that has to be taken can Only be taken in Metric which seems a bit unfair  .

I talked to a builder today and they have never built or seen a metric plan.

What are my fellow Canadians running into.

    Thanks.

Try attaching the ".plan" file to an email and send it to yourself from the laptop to your desktop. Open it on the desktop and save it there. If you are running the same program on both, I am thinking that will work.

    Worked like a charm , thankyou. :)

  8. I did a deck plan for a client on my laptop at his house yesterday and now I would like to transfer that plan to my desktop to finish it up .

I can't seem to be able to do this , maybe some one here can clue me in  .

    Thanks

  9. Hello Everyone , My question is .. does anyone know of a website that has downloadable residential  framing or section views that can be downloaded and inserted in my library for future use ?

    Thanks.

There is no 'shingle layer". You are seeing patterns which may be turned off via 3D>Toggle Patterns

That is what I was looking for . Thanks

  11. Another Question , Is it possible to turn the "shingle layer" off , I turned the ridge cap off but can't seem to find a way to turn off the shingle layer.
