Mike_Maiorano
All, New user making the switch from years and years of Sketchup, so I apologize in advance that I'm still well in the depths of the learning curve of HDP. I'm working on a plan with a relatively complex driveway (circle drive with an offshoot to a turn around and side-load garage). When drawing the driveway area, I have done so through drawing multiple areas. Is there a way to merge these areas into one big area, or do I always need to be drawing my terrain areas as one polygon? As an added question, what is the easiest way to add a "hole" to my driveway area for the circle drive? Right now I just drew two sides and brought them together (like a closed horseshoe shape), but am sure there must be a better way. Thanks for the help! -Mike
Rookie65
One way to do it would be to draw the entire driveway area. Then use the break tool to create sections that can be changed as needed. Then you use the line/arch function to create the curves. Once that's done, to make the circle, you can use a "circle about center" CAD object. Put it where you want it, Then go to the "convert selected object" tool to make it a terrain object. You may need to make it just 1/16" thicker than the driveway so it shows. Change the material lo your terrain type, and that should do it.
