Permanent wall types?

I have defined different wall types in a few different floorplans and was just going to start a new plan. I wanted to assign one of the previously defined wall types but all I found were the default ones.

I opened a previous floorplan and found one of the wall types I had previously defined.

How do I make these wall types I define globally available for all future plans?

Create a master plan to start your designs from. Then when you create a wall type in a new plan, you can also add it to the master. Or you can create a bunch of wall type variations in your master.
