treepeony
New to the home designer pro. Trying to make a simple garage foundation 48" frost walls, with slab and 12" stem wall. I seems that the stem wall is just part of the foundation wall, and is just the part above ground. Is this correct? Jonathan
treepeony
Eric, I tried to attach my actual plan. It seems to have been blocked. Trying again. I have already watched the videos, and I do have a foundation. My question was related to the definition of a stem wall. I thought it sat on top of the foundation walls as a separete piece. Seems not to be the the case. Jonathan workshop2.plan
Solution y-g-m-n Posted February 7 Solution Share Posted February 7 stem wall is part of foundation above footers that the Walls are built upon. It is not a separate item.
treepeony
Thanks y-g-m-n for the answer. My questions are less about how to use the tool and more about practices. When people make construction drawings, do they leave off the section below ground? When I save to layout, I see the below ground part of the view. Seems like for many views, you just want to see the stem wall and upwards. Obviously, from my questions, I'm not an architect.
y-g-m-n
normally foundation is its own drawing and designed by engineer and approved by local building office Normally 3d views are to show the one paying what she will look like
