edgar_a 0 Posted August 14, 2019 I am currently using an evaluation copy of the software to understand more before I buy. I am a CAD veteran with over 30 years various tools starting with Computervision, Unigraphics, SDRC Master Series, AutoCAD, Pro/Engineer, Solidworks, etc.... It does not look like Home Designer Pro has very robust drafting and annotation tools, and frankly I think I would be much faster using AutoCAD for annotation. So I would like to export a layout file out of Home Designer Pro as a dxf file so I can import into AutoCAD and do final detailing there. Will this work? A specific example of what I would like to do is create a section view of a wall in Home Designer Pro, create a layout of it, and then detail and annotate in AutoCAD. Am I not understanding how this works? Is there another way to do this? Thanks
DavidJPotter 207 Posted August 14, 2019 Yes, that should work perfectly, unlike a ".dwg" file the layers exported will be only on a single named layer. DJP
