English
I have done many site plans before where I have taken a survey and imported it into an ACAD window and then added my dimensions to the lot lines. Having not done this with this program is there any information that you can give me that may help? I'm not sure what format the survey is in. Would a simple copy and paste work? Thanks Alan
Kbird1
if you can't find out the data type , do you know the file type? .csv? .gpx ,dxf ? etc?, http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-01078/150/Chief-Architect/Terrain/Using-Real-World-Elevation-Data-to-Create-a-Terrain.html dxf/dwg http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00719/150/Chief-Architect/Terrain/Importing-Terrain-Elevation-Data-from-a-dxf-or-dwg-File.html with .csv you would just have to try it with different settings I think until it came in correctly ( use a new blank plan to test), if the file contains lots of Elevation point data it will slow Pro down in 3D views ,some tips https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/1113-importing-csv-terrain-data/ if you don't need all the topo data and if you have a printed copy , it maybe just as easy to use this KB article. http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00850/72/Home-Designer/Terrain/Drawing-a-Plot-Plan.html or http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00576/
Solution English Posted June 26, 2015 Author Solution Share Posted June 26, 2015 Mick I just copied the data over from the paper copy. Used the tutorial which worked a treat -- except for the text size but that got fixed by tech support (see my other post). ThanksAlan
