half wall messing with adjacent walls

Home Designer Pro 2025, Build 26.3.0.10 Windows 64-bit

If I left something out sorry just tell me and I will provide!

see how the 1/2 wall has messed with the assigned color or the wall behind it?

see how the 1/2 wall has exposed the wood on the adjacent wall?

if I move the other end of the1/2 wall any closer to the corner it snaps and blends even thought I have all the snaps turned off?

It is building the right feature that I have in my house and doing trim appropriately but I don't seem to have any control of the issues I mentioned above.

Thanks for your help if you have any ideas

Do I see a half wall up against a normal wall?

That will create issues.

To "paint" the all behind just use the eyedropper to get color of the green wall hit return

Then you get a spray can and set it to object mode.

And spray the beige wall in one spot.

and it will change color.

I run into a similar issue with half walls when they connect to a corner formed by two full walls. The only way I can create a wall that does not go up the ceiling is to use a half wall and adjust the railing height. If I have stairs going up one floor and I want part of the upper hallway to overlook the lower floor I use solid half wall. When that half wall ends at a corner formed by two full walls, the drywall layer above the top of the half wall is eliminated and all that shows is the framing layer. The half wall must connect to the the the framing layer to maintain the boundaries of all rooms so it is not an option to use a soffit or solid shape to fill a gap between the half wall and the full wall (support's suggestion). I cannot show these corners with exposed framing layers and using the eyedropper does not work for the exposed framing material. Also have a small "fragment" of a half wall I cannot eliminate (pic). Any thoughts?

quick fix is to either apply either a 3d shape (box), soffit or Vertical panel under cabinets.

Make width that of wall from out to out.

Thickness that of your sheetrock (1/2" normally)

then locate it in place and "PAINT" it wall color.

For my issue the only solution I could come up with is similar to response from y-g-m-n. I have to place a panel above the half wall to match the drywall thickness and paint it the same color. It has to be placed using the Ctrl key because the software won't allow it to overlap the drywall without forcing it to. Then, there is no god way to position it perfectly. Need to zoom in and eyeball it. Now, during the design process any time that full wall moves I have to remember to also move the panel accordingly. Kind of ridiculous this is the only solution. Also nuts that Chief Architect response is that they won't provide any answer unless I upgrade to the latest version for $500 without addressing whether or not the issue will be resolved.

We've encountered and fixed similar scenarios in the past. If you are using an older version it might still have some behavior that has been fixed in later versions.

If you are on a newer version you should send an example into Technical Support so we can report the problem to our developers.

If you are on an older version it is likely you will need to patch it with a box shape as previously suggested.
