Simple 2d B&W elevations Help

I'm just getting started on a migration to HD Pro from a different 3d modeling platform. At the moment I just need to be able to print simple 2d elevation views for my plans but I'm stuck. I searched here but didn't find any topics related so here I am.

 

So far I've got elevation cameras set up in my plan file, and when I open them up they appear ok. When I send the view to layout it still appears ok for printing.

The problems I am having is when I then do a test print from the layout, the elevation view in the test print has a light grey hue to it. I can't figure out what is causing it or how to get rid of it.

 

I've been through my pdf printer settings (cutepdf) but can't find anything that would be causing it on that end. I've attached a cropped screen cap of the test print.

 

Has anyone dealt with this issue before? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
