  1. I created a front elevation and it's not to the scale shown on the drawing sheet schedule which is 1'=1/8". Why is this? How can I print an elevation to scale?
  2. Can you produce cross sections sheets with HD Suite like the attached? I see you can do a cut-away 3D view but don't see the traditional cross section that you can annotate with notes like insulation thickness, etc.
  3. I have two windows that I want to be mulled rather than individual. The issue is they are on opposite sides of a wall break (see jpg). The wall break is there because of a gabel in the front of the house which starts in the middle of the joined windows. Can I put the window on top of the wall break to get them together? Thanks
  4. Thanks kbird and David! Worked great.
  5. How can I quickly add a blue stone patio. I tried using the rectangular feature and changing the material but didn't see anything that looked like a blue stone patio.
  6. Also have the terrain clip on already but still getting terrain in the house. There are no breaks in the walls.
  7. Maybe I should just start over. Can someone give me step-by-step on how to do the attached? I want a window well and a walk-out door. Steps from the door will go up 4-5 steps than turn right to reach grade. I have used elevation lines to try and get the slope but Chief keeps doing stupid things on the ends. Used terrain features for the steps.
  8. Here's the iso-bars. CA isn't getting the fact there's a 100% slope at the edge of the foundation and is trying to smooth it out with isobars. There are no isobars!
  9. Did these help? Having same problem. Which one was relevant?
  10. Is there a better way to get the terrain for a walkout basement. The sw keeps doing stupid stuff and doesn't seem to get the idea of having specific depths. I put a bunch of elevation lines in and get the results shown where at transition points you get weird stuff. Elevation region doesn't seem to do anything at all.
  11. My pool, A/C unit and elevation lines all show up on my second floor plan. I expected them to be on the first floor plan view. Not a big deal but is there some setting I can change to get them on the first floor plan?
  12. What's the easiest way to add a soffit to span a cathedral ceiling?
  13. Thanks for the ideas. I'll try adding a 1 foot room with no roof. Maybe this is some version of the 12" bug?
  14. How can I add decorative wood beam collar ties in a cathedral ceiling? I'm okay with manually adding them but haven't found that option anywhere. Thanks
  15. I posted a .jpg showing the offending roof. Changed over hang to 1 1/2" but something is still overriding this.
  16. I have two porches with shed roofs and each has a 12" overhang on the right side of the roof. I found a kludgy way where I make the deck 1 foot smaller, build the roof and then make the deck larger all with auto roof turned off. I set the overhang to 0" on the three deck walls and the one external wall and I still get this 12" overhang.

    Round windows

I want to place a round window on a gabel end. There's an option for "Round Top" under arch on the spec menu but nothing for the bottom and no "reflect vertically" check box like in the bigger brother version. Any ways to get this shape? Thanks
  18. Found the archive files and they opened. Not sure what you were getting at about "too many guesses" but don't need to know for now.
  19. I tried to open both my plan files and get this message: ..\source\ChiefStreamableFactory.cpp(1163): Error #272030113 " Assertion failed: The plan file you are attempting to open appears to be corrupted. You should revert to a backup copy of this plan." 7/5/2015 4:51:42 PM Is there anyway to recover anything from these files? It's 4 hours of work.
  20. Is there a way to import an Anderson 400 series library into home designer? It looks like the only file is for the full CA version with something called SSA. I'm loath to spend more money to upgrade the software.
