  1. Looks like you forgot to hit the Attach button under "More Reply Options" for your Plan file.

I am surprised actually She can't open and do at least basic editing (colours/furniture etc) in Suite , since you have the same Version.

Another User , DJP , has many versions so maybe able to confirm what can and can't be done , I had thought that with the same version you were able to use your version's features in a Plan of the same year.

  2. I agree with David and Eric , there is no need to show wiring really as the Electrician will do his own thing anyway and he has Codes requirements he has to meet regardless of your plan , so I would only show Lighting and special switching , special heights, special equipment , panel and Meter location and let the Sparkie do his Job.

  3. Use a monolithic Slab , and raise / lower the Terrain  to whatever height you want eg 1" , having a zero floor structure may lead to "weird" issues in HD as that is not "normal"

If you delete the foundation ,HD will give you the default floor (12") and Siding /Stucco ALWAYS wraps to the bottom of the Floor Joists ,which is what you are seeing , in these cases (interior Renos)  I just use a MonoSlab as mentioned above.

  4. check your Build Floor>foundation>Garage Options....setting I think it is 3 1/2 " by default

typically by Code the garage Floor is lower but it may depend on the era of the Building or where you are....

  5. I typically just use the Export Pic function in HD or even just the Windows Snipping Tool (accessories) which is also what I use to post most Images here.

Even Chief doesn't have Slanted ( sometimes called Battered) Walls but people have been asking for it for many years but I am not sure it is high on the request list as the program is designed for "normal" residential work really.

  6. No Chad , it's something that I see people on CT ask for every now and then too.

Most people just make the Dimension no# the smallest size allowed eg 128th inch so it can't be seen and put there own text in. (not sure what Pro's smallest size is but the text with a fill the background colour works too.

  7. you upgraded from 2014 right Andrew ?

    try this...

Open the 2014 version of the plan in Pro 2014 and do a "backup Entire Plan" to a Folder in your 2016 Data Folder

Now copy the 2016 version of the Plan into the new folder Overwriting the 2014 Plan File

Now Open 2016 Plan from New Folder which should now include all the textures referenced in the Plan except....

I'm not sure why you have lost the new 2016 Daltile image , you may need to reinstall the Daltile Catalog if it is still missing

  8. I don't think there is anyway for it to determine Dusk/Dawn and by Default every 3D view generates a Default Sun  which you can alter in the Adjust Light DBX if the is no Sun Arrow in the Plan.

You also might want to play with the Default Ambient light in the 3D Defaults ....I personally find Night-Time is usually too high by Default and I find Interior too Low often.

  9. Saw this one over on CT , I didn't realise this setting was also used for Temp Dims....

If you want to have a Colour other than Dark Grey for your Temporary Dims , change the Selection Colour in Preferences to whatever you like.

( You can also Change the Selection Fill Colour as I do to some more noticeable like Pink)

Works in Pro , but I can't personally vouch for other Titles.

  10. SWEET !!!

If you know the paint colour you like and , their Website has the RGB No#s you can make any colour you want , I recently did it with some Sherwin Williams Colours not in their HD Library , I just copied an existing colour too my User Lib. and then change the Colour via the Custom Tool and input the 3 RGB no# in the DBX.

Yeah...still plenty of "those types" around unfortunately....

  11. What you are clicking on is a Link to the Help File (double Click it)  not a button for an Auto Gambrel Roof , the Tutorial will show you how to do a Gambrel Roof , but I suggest you draw a 40'x30' box house and practice it in a new Plan 1st so you know what to do in your "good Plan"   or at the very least work in a Copy of your Good Plan incase it all goes "pear-shaped"

And please fill in your Forum Sig. so we know who you are and What you are using , thx.

Also please Use the Q&A Forum for Questions , this is the Tips/How To Forum  thx.

  12. If Eric is correct about a slab , just rebuild as he said , if you have a foundation with a basement and rooms etc. DO NOT , DO NOT ...do a rebuild , you will loss all work in the basement if you do....

  13. this is the technique..... (though tutorial may not seem like it at 1st.....)

The KnowledgeBase (KB) is a very handy place for lots of good info and Tutorials on stuff like this

if you are stuck and need a hand point me to the (RGB) numbers on Dulux's Website and I'll have a go for you.

  14. Eric is right ,  Align to the 1st Floor when Aligning if needed since you drew level 1 1st .....it should be the correct size and anything above (Attic Walls,2nd Story) or below should match it ie. the Basement should match the 1st Flr too , not the other way around.

  15. looks good.....

Don't have Mohawk installed , it's a huge library and my Comp. is slow enough opening the Library for materials already....
