I'd like to show a wall notch in a foundation wall for a beam.  How do I do that?

Is there a way to set up fractions similar to AutoCAD dimensions where the fractions are diagonal and not just basic font height?

It dawned on my to create a template for my project types though.

I do a bunch of Home Addition projects.  The homes are either brick veneer or siding veneer.  So once I get my client to settle on a design I can go to CD's fairly quick.

The Final CD's are minimal information.  The Building Inspectors like them.  The builders like them.  There is a Cover sheet, Plan sheets, Elevation sheets, Detail Sheets, Wall Section sheets and a Set of Specifications that are taken right out of the IRC. Simple yet informative and accurate.  Very little to screw up

Yes - I did it, guilty as charged, svsvsvsvsvsvsvsvsvsvsvsvvsvsvsvs and I had it with some fahva beans and a nice Chianti.......

O.....k, so, how do I fix the structure of the wall so that it covers the gap.

That's pretty much what I did in my original project's creation.  But for some reason there is a gap between walls/floors and I don't know what is causing this.

As for the grid I can turn those off.

This is the comparison.  I like a wall with a poche.  When you have Layer Off, you don't get any poche.

I'm just not fond of seeing all the parts of a wall. 

To me it's nice to know that the parts are all there but I don't need my 2d prints that are going to a contractor and Plan review.

Just a personal preference.

Nothing is "wrong" with the definition.  I just don't need to see all the materials and lines for material separations - I merely simplify what I'm seeing.

Just to be clear, this is the Home Designer forum?

In my Chief Arch 9.5 version the F12 function key would rebuild the building.  Does this work in the Home Pro version or is it automatic?

yes, I'm not seeing why there is about an inch gap. I've included a couple of pictures to look at.

For some reason the foundation walls don't "connect" to the first floor walls in some spots.  How do I fix this?

Using the Perspective overview you can see where there are gaps in the walls/floors in some areas of the house.  What is causing this?

Does anyone know of a free IRC in pdf format?

Interesting.  I would ask then where you might suggest to look for documentation that would indicate code requirements.  I'm wondering if the IRC would have that documented.
