Ok. Well, I guess maybe I'll just pull that half wall away from the perpendicular wall about 1' so that it will correct the shelf problem, but still show as a wall on the floor plan. Actually, I might have to do 2' so I can correct the hole on the countertop that will probably appear when I shorten that wall.

I did that earlier. The shelves are already extended all the way to the other cabinet, but when I added that half wall, the shelf disappears in the 3D view. It actually disappears on the floorplan view as well. When I click on the shelves in either view, it shows as extending the full distance between the two upper cabinets.

Ugh. I'm back. Somehow I got the island (or peninsula actually) to work, but now my shelves on the perpendicular wall will not extend. Is there a way to fix this?

Nevermind. I figured it out. Somehow it worked this time.

Hello! I'm trying to create an island with a half wall behind the cabinets where electrical and plumbing will run, but I need the countertop to extend over the half wall and 12" beyond it to create a bar. the program apparently "sees" the half wall as a full wall and will not allow the overhang. How can I create this type of situation? I'm using Home Designer Pro 2021. Thanks for any help! Janet Crouch

Thank you! I think maybe I am getting part of the issue solved. I followed directions on one tutorial where it told me to drag the exterior hip walls in towards the middle (long walls) on the second story to create the "room" upstairs. That did not work at all. I now have deleted the second floor and started over using a different tutorial. So far, I think I have solved my problem as I now am able to draw the interior walls and click on the rooms including the attic space and label them. Hopefully, now I can add the addition and the 2nd story. I will be back if this does not work. Thank you!

Hello! I am trying to recreate a story and a half as built house and add a 2 story addition on the back. I need to have the gable roof perpendicular to the original roof and add a hallway to connect the original 2nd story with the new 2nd story. I'm having trouble even getting the original built where the program recognizes the 2nd story as a room. I haven't even figured out how to do the 2nd story (story and a half) addition. Help!
