I’m not sure how you did it but when you drew the roof planes the baselines look to be out in the air.
-
Geoff, if it was me, I'd delete the roofs and start over!!! If you use the roof planes you have drawn, you will need to edit each roof plane separately, pull the roof baseline into the wall main layer (Wood Framing), lock the pitch at 5/12 and make the roof baselines the same height, then use the join roof toot to connect the ridges together.
-
@AlpineGeoffHey Geoff, did you draw the roof planes manually? It looks like your baselines are all in different locations and heights. They are normally on the outside of the main wall layer.

Ok, there is a Mutual Materials catalog that might have something like that but unfortunately the catalogs only go back to HDP 2022.
-
There are pavers in the core catalog, use a slab and change the material.
-
You should be able to select the deck post in the 3d view and drag them down.

I don't have HDP 2025, but I used the trial version of 2026. You need to draw the 2 stair sections and landing on floor 1 and they will build to floor 2, then you will need to set them up in the stair advanced options to get them to the 3rd floor. I drew in the terrain and have the bottom at 0" so you may need to adjust the bottom to whatever your terrain will actually be. Hope that helps.

@Vikki_WAJust curious, what's not available that your wanting? I haven't used HDP for several years, but I downloaded the trial version and compared it to 2021 and seems like things are about the same with more options. It did start up with Project Managment on and it's a lot different, but it can be turned off and it works like previous versions. I've been using Premier X17 and once I got use to the project management, I really like it. You can't revert to 2023 but give the new version a try and you might like it.

If you built the soffit on the first floor, try building it on the second floor.
-
@tcutrona Check you display options and make sure your ceiling surface layer is turned on.
-
@DarrellHaunHave you tried Reset Options in Preferences?
-
Since you already have the rooms drawn you will need to divide some of them with room divider. Then set the floor structure of the front rooms.
-
@MississippiMims Is this what you are wanting? I started with footings and foundation walls on everything then changed the back section to basement. I then changed the front section floor structure to concrete. I lowered the one wall so you can see the slab built out over the foundation wall.
-
Try this, open roof defaults and change default pitch to 4/12 and let it rebuild the roof, then open the walls that I circled and change the pitch for them back to 8/12.
-
I don't think it can be done in Suite, but it can in HDP. See if you can use this file, I just went by your dimensions and remember not to turn on auto rebuild roofs. 692790820_NewAddition_2024 (1).plan

If I had more information and maybe a sketch of what you’re wanting it to look like, I could see if it can be done. With HDS you are so limited on what you can do with roofs it’s hard to do a custom roof.
-
@AllDoneHM Is this what you're trying to do? If it is you can do it but it's a little complicated. The only thing I can't do is edit the two walls inside.
-
You do already have a 2nd floor, and your roof is marked to ignore the 2nd floor.
-
@BobWilTry this, draw a straight pony wall somewhere outside of the plan. Use the object eyedropper and select the pony wall and then click on the walls you want to change. I used HDA 2025 trial version. Home Designer Architectural 2025 Trial Version 2024-08-25 19-39-37.mp4

Without knowing how you drew the post and beam, this is a half wall, and I used a shelf to make the beams and post. I don't have 2022 but this is in 2024 trail.
-
@davidmurray select the back deck railing and open the roof specification and mark it as Dutch Gable.
-
@btushaus If you're not able to get everything to work, attached is a copy of your plan I fixed the roof in Chief, and it can be edited in HDA. Just remember you can't edit the roof and if you turn on auto roofs you will loss what I did. good luck. Sophia4 edit.plan
-
@btushaus After @Jo_Ann posted I had to try again. I got the front, but the back gets close with a hip on the end. If I change it to a Gable, it makes brings back the strange looking gable wall. Maybe Jo-Ann can figure out the back with the rest of the plan.
-
@btushaus I looked at your plan and I don't think you can get the roof to build in HDA without being able to manually edit the roof planes. Someone else may know a way but it looks like Home Designer Pro would be needed. You could try and get someone with HDP or Chief Premier to fix the roof and send the plan back to you.

Can't delete a random Polygon that's causing error messages.
Garybills replied to RunsWithHammers's topic in Q&A
I don't know if you found a solution, but I had to open it in Chief Architect Premier and delete the cad line. I saved the plan and marked it to be edited in HD. Not sure why it can't be selected in HD. @RunsWithHammers Dormer4 edit.plan
