The connection between your floor plan and resulting roof system

Most new users and designers don't understand the direct correlation between the geometry of the floor plan of a structure directly influences the 3D Geometry of the roof system over a floor plan. If the floor plan is asymmetric then the resulting roof system will also look screwy of asymmetric as well. Generally speaking most Architecture is to some degree symmetric (walls align and are lined up from left to right.

 

In short, if you wish to have a traditional, pleasant looking home, draw the floor plan symmetrically.
