Stud Dimension Question

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I'm running Home Designer Pro 2018 and have a question regarding a stud measurement in a wall (rake wall). If I select the stud in the floor plan view and open the object I get a length of 67". If I then open an elevation of the wall and highlight the stud, the system gives me a dimension of 67" as well but it appears the dimension is taken to the middle of the stud rather than the longest point.

Is this just the way the dimension is displayed or is there a way to see what the length is to the longest point? The top of the stud is cut at a 45 degrees (12 in 12 pitch).

Thanks

You may make your own dimension using one of the dimension tools, or, since your slope is 45 degrees, just add 3/4" to the length.

I see you said Pro, but ...

Answers often depend on which title (Suite, Pro etc) and version (2018, 2019 etc) you are using.

You can help everyone by adding this info to your signature (see mine for an example) by clicking on your user name at the top right of the page, click Account Settings, then Signature on the left.

Doing so makes it always available, and keeps others from having to hunt for it.

And, turn on signature display too.
