move a wall at all!

The instructional video says just approximate dimensions as you start laying out the walls, because you can go back and change dimensions.  I've watched the way the video shows making these changes and I've read the User Guide on wall dimensions - and clicking on any of the things they say changes nothing.  No handles on the wall will drag the wall an iota in any direction and the dimensions won't highlight to change the numbers, as suggested.

 

What am I missing?  Home Design 2018 on MacBook. 

Jeez, if the simple layout stuff is impossible, is there hope for this being useful??  So far, a pad of grid paper wins!
