wallywally
Very new here. Is there a way to prevent pre existing dimensions from changing when trying to only change one size? My first learning project is a simple 2 car garage. Once I built the exterior walls to the correct size, I am trying to add two garage doors on one wall with a walk door centered between them. I have plenty of room for everything on that wall. I want the garage doors to be a specific distance from the end of the wall on both sides. It is easy enough to put them all on the wall, but when I try to change any of the dimensions between items it automatically changes the opposite exterior walls size also. Is there a way to prevent this?
solver
1. Please take a minute and fill out your signature -- see below. 2. Suggest spending time watching the Home Designer videos posted on YouTube. You will get a good understanding of how the software is used. 3. To answer your question -- place the door. Select the door. If you select it near the inside, you will get temporary dimensions on the interior, select it near the outside and temporary dimensions show on the exterior. Select the appropriate dimension, enter your number. The door will move, not the wall. And I always work with auto dimensions off. -------------- It helps if we know what title (Suite, Pro etc) and version (2014, 2015 etc) you are using. You can add this info to your signature by clicking on your user name at the top right of the page, click My Settings, then Signature on the left. solver
You should never need that tool to position doors and windows. Suggest reading and watching.
