Wall material does not update

My gable wall has a different cladding but the 3D view and rendering show the cladding from the wall below it even though they are two different wall types.

So you are wanting to create something like this? 

Since Attic Walls will rebuild, you should make sure that everything is located correctly before changing the material in their Wall Specification dialogs.

Did you use the Painter Tool too change the material?

 

Attic Walls are Auto Walls , so it is best to either change the material in the Attic Wall's DBX and hit ok where you will get an "error" message , http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00872/     hit yes  that way that wall will no longer auto update when everything else is rebuilt , you may have to alter the wall in other ways too if you change the building etc though as it wont be an auto wall any longer.

 

the other way would be on the attic level to draw your own exterior wall over the auto walls and specify the wall as needed.
