  1. Hi, I typically import SketchUp models, however I found one model on a website that only comes in OBJ format. Is this format as easy to use in HomeDesigner Pro 2024 as the SketchUp models? Thanks!
  2. Thank you for the help. I will try soffits to make the sloped cabinet. Do you know where I can find information on how to slope a wall or ceiling like in your image above?
  3. I am designing a custom closet, and one of the walls slopes down about 12" on one side of the closet. The shelving that goes to the ceiling will be sloped on that side, but I can't find a way to a) have the ceiling slope to meet the sloped wall b) have the shelving follow the line of the sloped wall/ceiling Is there a way to do this? I have attached a screen shot of the closet in Homedesigner Pro 2024, and a picture of the actual space. Thank you for any help!
  4. Hi, I need to get a new mouse for my Mac Laptop, and I was wondering if anyone has suggestions on the best one to buy for using HomeDesigner Pro. Thanks!
  5. Thank you David, that was extremely helpful! I really appreciate your expertise.
  6. Hi, I am trying to create a full height cabinet with shelves and drawers inside, covered by the cabinet doors. But anytime I add a drawer to the cabinet, the doors do not cover the drawers. Is there a way to do this? Thanks.
  7. Gotcha, thank you. Does Chief Architect offer that capability?
  8. Hi, I am dimensioning a bathroom, and need to specify the height of the pencil moldings in the shower, but I haven't been able to get my program to locate them. After drawing a manual dimension line along the height of the wall, I click on the dimension line so I can place a new marker, so it will locate the molding, but it won't let it stay where I put it. It's as if it doesn't see the room's chair rail molding. Any tips on how to do this other than draw each one manually? Thanks. Macbook Pro 2020 Homedesigner Pro2021
  9. Thank you for your replies. I will look into both options.
  10. Hi, Does anyone know where I can find a 3D Model of a Relaxed Roman Shade? I have searched endlessly on Sketchup and on Google without any luck. Thank you for any help!
  11. Thank you for your reply. This is very helpful.
  12. Why did the Room Planner App get discountinued? I loved that app for measuring projects. What are people using to replace it for measuring projects? Thanks
  13. I would love to be able to dimension shelving inside cabinets for clients, and to have the ability to dimension cabinet doors on full height cabinets. Other than having to manually create a dimension, it would be nice to be able select that option when on the Dimensioning Defaults Locate Objects. Is there any way to do this without individually creating each shelf or door measurement? Thank you. -Tiffany
  14. Does anyone have a good hack for creating a metal inlaid detail in a cabinet's door profile? Pic below...
  15. In HDPro 2019, I use to be able to pan in plan view by hitting command and holding down on my mouse or track pad on my Mac laptop. Now I have to hit "P" and then hold down on my mouse or trackpad, which is way more of a hassle. Did HDPro change this with the update or am I missing something?
  16. All items I've downloaded are now missing in my User Folder. How do I get them back? Thank you!
  17. Hi, yes, I was able to get them back. I think that the files are being pushed to the cloud, and so they are not there when Home Designer Pro opens up. I went to my documents folder in Finder, and opened the Home Designer Pro file, then the templates file, and downloaded any missing plans. That did the trick! Good luck!
  18. The plan I'm working on has a powder bath that is slightly wider than the staircase above it. The powder bath's ceiling follows the staircase, and I am at a loss as to how to draw this correctly. I have posted the plan and some pictures. Thank you so much for any help! 19. I changed the room specification to deck, manually deleted the posts and footings, and apply correct materials to flooring for project. That seemed to do the trick! Thanks!
  20. I am working on a 3 story deck on a very sloped lot. The ground patio is going to be cantilevered 3'6" over the existing foundation. I am having difficulty with this, as the foundation keeps building under this part of the concrete patio. Is there a way to do this on a first floor? Thank you.
