So I guess what you are saying is that you wouldn't want to share what objects you have found to work?  Well some people might??

I am super new to this all, so I thought I'd just throw this out there.  Is there any way in 3D Warehouse where items that are 100% compatible with Home Designer and Chief Architect software could be accumulated and shared with this community?  I imagine there is.  Just need someone to have the initiative.  Maybe a way to let multiple contribute when they find good objects.  I've found some items that work and some that don't and it looks like others are doing the same thing.

Look for instructions on "layer sets".  Display options are view specific.

After reading through the reference manual, I'm inclined to say that the problem I was having was not knowing the layer sets are file specific.  From page 76 "Layer Sets".  Changing a display option in Floor Plan view does not change it in Camera view.  I must have turned off the foundation display in Camera view and then thought it should have been turned on looking at the display options for Floor Plan view.

I was going to start over because I realized I could have done a few things differently to start with, but if this can be fixed that would be great.  The front porch/roof is going to challenge me too.  See the house (attached) I am trying to replicate.  Thanks.

Does this room specification dialog tell you anything?  Some of the items are grayed out.  The garage is lower (even walls and roof) than the rest of the house, as it was an addition.  I was trying to figure out how to do that before "this" happened.  I checked the camera view and that wasn't the problem.  I've tried rebuild foundation.  I've also attached a copy of the Foundation Defaults dialog.

I'm trying to import a 3d symbol and get this error message (attached).  I am able to open it in Sketchup.  Anybody know what is causing this?

You have to put the camera in the layout and kind of drag it towards the area you want to view.

Any ideas why my foundation is not showing in 3D view?  It is turned on in display options.

I have attached an example of what happens when I move the camera around in 3d view.  Is this normal?  I try to refresh view, but nothing happens.  The only way to get the view fixed is to close the window and start over.  Just curious if this is normal.
