Some of this could be done in Suite, but most of the sloping beams, and truss members could not be drawn using Suite. You would need to either make the roof beams in another program and import them in, then hope they are the right scale, or use Home Designer Pro to gain control over manual framing tools.

Sounds like you've drawn your walls too long. The way you limit the size of your project is to draw the walls roughly the lengths you need to begin with. You should have temporary dimensions as you draw, displaying the length of the wall that you are drawing. If you are already zoomed out too far to see these then zoom in really quick and try drawing the wall again. The house design tutorial can help you with the process of creating a drawing in the software that is the right size. You can access this by selecting 'Help> View User's Guide' from your menu.

You might be able to model something like that in another program, such as Sketchup, then import it as a symbol if you version of the software supports Sketchup import. Custom modeling like that is a little outside the scope of the Home Designer software's capabilities or intended functionality.

Assuming you are working with Home Designer Pro 2016 or Chief Architect Premier, you can open the cabinet up and change it's left and right widths to change the overall depth.

This is normal,you would need to go to floor 0 to see the framing for floor 1 because it is actually under floor 1 not above it. Also, you will need to make sure that any layers you wish to see are turned on under the layer display options for floor plan view.

That's not a work around, that's what everyone else that sent images of the plan did, including myself. The confusion came in because you said that you had already built that and it wasn't working. But I'm glad you were able to resolve it.

The floor framing and rim joists are definitely missing from that view, but it's strange that none of us have any trouble generating the framing when we select Build> Framing> Build Framing. Are you clicking OK, or do you see any errors when you try it on your system?

Under 'Edit> Preferences> Render' set 'Hardware Edge Smoothing' to 'none' and see how that works. That's the most common cause for this on older video card drivers.

As to your concerns about compatibility, I believe that this shouldn't be a problem. Home Designer supports DXF files all the way back to Release 11/12.
