Eric, just before you posted David solved it. Would still like to see the video you provided but there isn't any sound. Much appreciated, Bob

David, Brilliant! Thank you so much - found the problem AND solved it, plus I learnt a few extra things during the video - like those little extra breaks in the roof plane, didn't know they were even there. Thanks again.
Cheers, Bob

Doh, I know that. My apologies.....

See attached. Note that this is just a mock up to test my new net zero wall so I haven't paid any attention to other details. Thanks, Bob

Note that it is a Net Zero wall so what you see ghosting is the extra layer of insulation that is on the exterior of the framed wall....in case that helps.

Doh! Thanks Eric, I didn't realize one would over ride the other. Always appreciate your help.

I meant 16" thickness

Home Designer Pro 2022.
I made up a new wall type for a net zero wall, main components being a 2"x4" framed wall with 9 1/2" TJ's on the outside. It worked and displayed fine in a 2 previous plans but now in plan view only the 2'x4" wall is visible. If I click on it I can see the full 16' thickness. I have tried turning everything on in "Tools / Display Options" but still nothing changes. Help appreciated.

Thanks guys, I assumed it would be simple - and I always try hard to find/solve issues before asking - and it is.
Thanks again - much appreciated.!

I created a simple plan to create a x-section that illustrates my problem - see below. Sometimes when I create a cross section some components are coloured in, like the floor and roof trusses in the example shown. How do I turn this off, or create a x-section that is just the black outline of each component?

Thanks Jo Ann, very helpful and easy. I'll keep that in mind as plan B! ;o )

Thanks Eric. I went a one of your video's and followed the process, but get the message below when I tried to save it. Is this no an option with "pro", or did I misunderstand a step?
Cheers, Bob

I've been working a set of plans for a Net Zero home. I created a new wall type and saved it. When I went to start a second Net Zero floorplan my new wall type doesn't show, although it is still there when I go back and open up the first plan. Is there a way to save it so I don't have to recreate it for every new project? Cheers, Bob

Fairly new...
Home Designer Pro 2021
I am drawing an addition to an older existing two story house. Attached is a sketch of the existing ground floor foundation, which has an 8' ceiling and includes bedrooms, bathroom and an office, the main living is upstairs. I can't figure out how to achieve the attached cross section. Any help greatly appreciated - I've been pulling my hair out for hours.
Sincerely, Bob

Upgraded software to 2021 and the issue resolved itself. Cheers, Bob

I am fairly new...created stairs and opening but when I am in camera view looking down the stairs I don't see the lower stairs going down, or the lower floor, but instead the outside background. Help appreciated!

Eric, thank you very much. Kind of glad I had the ghosting glitch, which you solved, as I learned about that and a whole lot from your response!
