  1. An interior image of the above model.  The floor is black but should be vinyl plank.  The white paint for the dinning table chairs show plaid.

  2. 3D images fade to black.   If I move in close some textures will show correctly but fade to black on the edges.  Also, some textures do not show correctly.  They appear like a plaid image or just black.

    Any help?

  3. Thanks.  Lots of valuable info.  I will check out your suggestions.

    I'm also from Indiana.

I believe I have found my problem.  My plan has a ceiling mounted projector in it which was imported from a SketchUp model in .dae format.  It was a BenQ projector.  It had 40+ files attached to it.  When I did a ortho or camera view HD Pro could not find those files.  It search thru all 57,000 of my AppData files to find them; hence the 3-4 minute delay.  HD Pro opens a window which list the files it cannot find.  I deleted all of them.  Now,  the ortho or camera views are presented in less than 7 seconds.

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions.

  4. David,  this has nothing to do with crashing.  My software works find.  This is about cashing directories and the data they store.

  5. I'm sorry, I forgot to mention that the camera view or ortho displays just find after the long search for the materials, patterns, etc.  I have a high end computer with an excellent video.

I assume there are cashing directories to store all the data for textures, patterns, color, etc    I changed computers a couple years ago and may have not transferred the data correctly.  I thought there might be a tutorial on how to organize this data.

  6. How to manage cashing.  Each time I open a plan and request an ortho or any camera view the system searches through what appears to be all the files on the C: drive to find the various materials, etc.  This may take three to four minutes.

How can this be corrected or managed?  I have not been able to find anything online which addresses this problem.

  7. I have an 8" foundation stem wall with the top portion 5.5" to match wall thickness for a garage.  The concrete floor does not extend to the 5.5" wall; see image.  How do I fix this?161833321_StemWall.thumb.jpg.9781786f8ad1e3e94987e820d41e843a.jpg

  8. I have created an attic truss.  It does not sit on top of the wall plate.  I have double plates.  It intersects the plate approx 1.25 Inches down from the top of the plate.  Can I fix this?

  9. Attached image.

Frame spacing is 5"; casing is 4-1/4" with 3/8" gap for caulking and seal per Pella.   The nailing fin is 1-5/16".  208709552_Windowcasingissue.thumb.jpg.f808ac9387b1784eb214e12dfc68646b.jpg

  10. How do I add casing between two closely placed windows which are 5" frame to frame?   When I place windows close together the casing goes around both windows but not between them.

  11. Thanks.  For my career I was a product designer; we were very detailed.  It is sometime difficult to ignore the detail.  But, you are right; it is not necessary for the cabinets.  I was exporting the cabinets to AutoCad and noticed the error.  I thought CA would have been more accurate in their presentation.

    I will follow your advice.

  12. Cabinet doors are usually spaced 3/16" to 1/4" from cabinet case or face frame due to the thickness of the quite closure button attached to the doors or drawer faces.  CA spaces the door 1/16" from face frame.  Is there a way to increase this distance to 3/16" or 1/4"?  I am providing cabinet details to a cabinet maker; hence, reason for above request.

  13. Solved:  I had a vaulted ceiling under the dormer.  I removed it and added a floating dormer.  See image. Then added the vaulted ceiling back.  An auto dormer has walls which break thru the vaulted ceiling.
