  1. I'm using a Kohler vanity with this program's custom countertop and I can't get a HD sink to drop in. Is there some special technique I should use? I've tried dropping it in with and without the countertop in place. Thank you.
  2. I have put the stuff, that you two have shown, on walls and it doesn't look like shiplap to me. Interior shiplap panelling. This is how I've seen shiplap look: This is how the shiplap in the program looks: The Tongue and Groove looks more like "shiplap" but it's all mottled. I guess I'll have to make due. Thanks.
  3. (Home Designer Pro) Are there shiplap boards that can be imported into the Library? There seems to be one kind, but it's very very wide and not like the thinner interior shiplap I see elsewhere. Thank you.
  4. In the standard Library, under Materials, Fabric and Wallcoverings, Screen, you'll find screen. You can also access it by simply typing in screen into the library search. Hope this helps.
  5. Merry Christmas to you! Thank you!

    bow front window

I go to the drop-down list for Windows and select Bow Front. However, I can't see how to change the "window" from Double Hung to Fixed Glass. Unless, it would be in the Components portion and I did try to change the Description from Double Hung to Fixed Glass, to no avail. I would like a window that looks like the one attached. I have Home Designer Pro 2017. Thank you.
  7. I now have a "signature!" Thanks!
  8. Hello, I have Home Designer Pro 2017. I would like to put a ramp beside my houseplan's side porch. I would like it to start at the southeastern corner, where the main steps up to the deck begin, and then have the ramp make a U curve to continue to wind up to the porch's door, which is in the middle of the porch, the door. Can I do that with my program? I've tried and tried different ways and manners with no success. Thank you for any help.

    Ramps

Eric, I did create a ramp this time that seems to work, but not sure how to do the railings. Any ideas? Thanks!

    Ramps

Thanks, Eric. I don't have a ramp under the stair icon, just stairs and a landing. I DO have a wedge and have used it before but it looks weird. I am trying to model an entrance ramp in the place of stairs to our deck. I can try the wedge again, but can I then add railings?

    Ramps

I have home essentials 2015; can I make ramps? I haven't figured it out, yet. Any hints? Ideas?

    V-Shaped Roofs

Thank you, Kbird1. So totally forgot about making the wall invisible. I don't think in essentials I can turn off gutter, but will look. Thank you for taking the time to help!

    V-Shaped Roofs

Hello all, I have Home Essentials the latest version. I am trying to work on a V-shaped roof for my small cottage. It is 18' x 24'. I have viewed the tutorial on how to do shed roofs that abut, but I am trying to do two shed roofs that form a V. I got it to work. . .only because I put in double interior walls. Weird things happen when I try to eliminate one of the double walls. I'm posting pics of the floor plan and the exterior. The exterior looks like I want it, except for the gutters intersecting weirdly. I have the roof settings set for full gable and shed roofs. I just don't know how to do want I want with only one interior wall. Thank you for any help.
  14. Hi all, I have Home Designer Essentials 2015. I've seen the guide on how to build a timber frame "barn." What if I want to build a timber frame house? Can I use what is done for the timber frame barn and put in walls? The only glitch is that the barn is made using the decking icon; I know "wall" can be made in that mode, but will it work for a house? Thanks!
  15. Thanks, DavidJPotter! Solver: My design is based on the TimberCab 550, but is a bit smaller and incorporates our current cabin as a base to build on to.
  16. Thank you, Jo_Ann! It was the SOFFIT setting I was missing! Came out perfect!
  17. I have the earlier question and really could use some help. I added invisible walls on both the main and attic floors. Pics of both are below. Can someone please engage with me to help me figure this out? Thank you.
  18. I have attached two pics of the small house I've designed where I can't get the shed roof to come out fully over the front. To let you all know, I have set all the "correct" wall to either Full Gable on the main side walls and the bump-out's walls, and Shed Roof on the front walls. I have also done this on the attic floor. I've set the pitch to 2/12 and all the other roof settings are to 36". What I'm aiming for here is a full shed roof with no bump ins, but to be full over the areas beside the front bump out. Does anyone have a tip or know what I can do or what I'm doing wrong here? Thanks.

    ROOF OVER DECK

good answer, David. I have high ceilings with the shed roof and always have to remember to click that Ceiling or Not Ceiling button.

    Shed roof Issues

Hey guys! David is the one who is correct. You need to change floors to look at the attic view to make sure all lines/walls match. Here's one of my shed roofed buildings: The only way I could get the little windows to line up was in Attic View and the rest was like, doah!
