  1. Found it... I was using the wrong terminology - Duplicating floor. is the right terminology . Anyway - I will keep this up here in case anyone is looking for it...It is from 2015 - but still helped create the solution I was looking for.. Here is the link in case anyone in the future wants to know how to make a multi story building - just duplicate the floor.. https://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00997/duplicating-another-floor.html Thanks to the Resources team for creating this... I typically find the answers after writing a question to the forum.. It is like clockwork.. The answer seems to appear after I ask for help. Thank you forum for always helping to lead me to the answers... Both with the kind people that help and all of the great info on the forum... I do hope that this helps someone in the future that is looking to create a midrise - multi-story building. All the Best...
  2. Hi All.. I would like to know if anyone can point me in the direction of how to create a multi story apartment building. I have seen a few in the gallery of images and think they are great.. I am posting a sample plan of a condo unit for you to see - I have done the catwalk, and balcony. However, this is a single family structure with a pitched roof. I have been looking in the videos but they are for single family homes with multi floors. If you know of something for me to read or watch, I would be most appreciative. Here is a sample file of a condo unit, - I have attached 2 files for you to see. In essence, these would be one of each of the various models in the building. I don't know if this means anything, but I wanted you to see what I would love to do.. I apologize in advance if this is somewhere that I have not discovered yet. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction so that I can master creating a 5 - 8 story apartment building. Really appreciate your feedback. D-

    Apt Azena-2019

Great job and designs using HD Pro 2020
  4. This is amazing.. Beautiful colors... Definitely a work of art/
  5. Joann It worked!!! I never thought that pulling a cabinet into the wall would be the way to go. But it did work. Another simpler solution should be the corner base cabinet extended to the proper height.. But that stile just can't work.. This method works perfectly. I never would have imagined that the software would make one pull an object into the wall for a simple corner cabinet. I am not complaining.. just thankful that you chimed in on this.. I am happy that everyone is so helpful and gracious.. I would have never thought of something like this.. and I tried everything... I am saving this in my user library as a Library Block... Thanks again to everyone who helped... D-
  6. Hi Guys, I have been thinking that Eric was using x11 - I was right - The partition method and shelves is something that I tried prior coming to Forum.. Thanks for the suggestion.. Keith - I have been toying around with the base option... funny that you mentioned this - I am tinkering, but think this may be the best option.. It is just getting rid of the style in the front that I am struggling with.. Thanks for the help.. I will let you all know if I am successful.. I sincerely appreciate everyone's help.. D-
  7. Eric The cabinet does not overlap the other. There seems to be a bounding box.. I know that there is something that I have not turned on.. I just don't know what it is. I know the answer lies in a tool in the bottom left corner, I have tried all the tools and they do not work. I have looked at it for over an hour... therefore, I came to the forum for advice. I have gone through all the videos and tutorials.. I know that it is something simple - BECAUSE you have shown me that it is possible.. What am I missing???
  8. Eric That is what I would love to do.. How do I make them intersect? Your pic is perfect...
  9. I am trying to create a Tall Corner unit for a closet.. I would sincerely appreciate any help because I have tried every cabinet option. It seems like it should be doable.. Am I missing something or is this not possible with HD Pro 2020? Thanks for your help in advance D-
  10. Tiffany, There are several other apps on the market that people are using.. Some even come with the Bluetooth measuring devices such as Leica Disto is one of the biggest ones with the most floorplan integration and industry use. Bosch GLM is a strong contender also, Stanley Tools offers a Bluetooth and floorplan integration too. There are others out there on Amazon that offer Bluetooth and floorplan solutions. . I think that it was a business decision by Chief Architect, because so many other solutions are on the market. I know that this has been covered before in the past, I thought that I would share my thoughts.. D-
  11. @solver OMG!!! I am jumping for Joy!!! This is fabulous.... Thanks for sharing this tidbit... Note: I have been in this area before, but never toyed around with it in depth.. This is a Game Changer for my 2D plans... You ARE MY Hero!!! Thanks again for helping me understand more of the power of this program...
  12. @solver Question: Is there anyway to change the colors of the lines to make them more colorful like in the past? I know that I can add color to the inside of an area with all sorts of things... It is the exterior lines that are of interest to me. Thanks for your feedback
  13. I know but he attributed his success to you.. The 2D plans look marvelous... You seem to be a great Teacher!!
  14. Jo_Ann - yes it Does!!!
  15. I have never seen this before in my life.. Therefore it really stood out as impressive to me.. I have been looking for interesting ways to make my 2D plans look interesting for awhile. This multi colored 2D plan amazed me... Apologies for raving about something that is known by masters of the product such as yourself. It is amazing to me that the program can do something that I have always wanted it to do. I learn so much by working on the program and reading the comments on the forum... Thanks for not holding this against me for loving something so simple yet amazing to me.
  16. Wow!! This is another great example of a 2D floor plan with sizzle with using the HD products. I know that you may take this for granted that you are able to achieve this, but it is totally magnificent. Jo_Ann you are once again a miracle worker... showcasing the possibilities with the HD products.. Your 2 color 2D floor plan is really stellar. I look forward to trying this out on my next plan..You unlocked the power in showing how you took a nice looking plan and made it look even better with just the enhancement of colors. Thanks again for going one step above and sharing this on the forum. It is one thing to be told that you can do something, it is an entirely different thing when you show an actual rendition of something from black and white to color... Thanks again for going a step further in your explanation.
  17. Wow!! This is an amazing floor plan... The 2D format is very creative and has a unique sense of style.. I would love to know how to master this... Any links to videos or tutorials on this would be great...… What makes it so special is that the line weights and text are all so creative. It is refreshing seeing something like this on the forum. Thanks for sharing and JoAnn you are quite a creative genius to have inspired such magnificent creativity in the use of this program.
  18. Jan You definitely can create a countertop on a pass through ledge. You would just create a custom countertop on this area.. Why did you create a bmp file for visual? You have a very nice design.. You would just use the custom countertop tool. It is found in the 3D view under Build - Cabinet - Custom countertop Here is a snapshot of a project I am working on for you to see the dialog box. I am no expert, but this is the only thing that I could see missing in your drawing. I would use this method to draw my pass through for this design.. I hope this helps... D-

    Floor plan color

Thanks David... I found this out by tinkering.. After I discovered what was available.. I see what I am looking for is more of a photoshop look. If I could take my Dollhouse view and tie it into my floor plan.. Eureka.. I love the Dollhouse view.. It just never comes out at a decent size to get the desired angles of all the rooms with the contents... Hence the desire to make the 2D plan colorful.. Thanks for your feedback.. As always very helpful...and on point...
