    That helps a lot.  Operator error rather than equipment.
     
    As you can see, I still have a lot to do on this drawing, but really do appreciate the help and suggestions from all that replied.

    DavidGrosvenor's post in renaming the attic so I can get a roof plan was marked as the answer   
    I figured it out.  I had copied the exterior walls on all floors so the roof encompassed everything.  When I corrected the walls, I got a correct roof plan.
