  1. In AutoCAD I have different dimensioning (and font) scales, depending what size drawings are sent to the layout. For example, 1/4" scale, small font, used to dimension the house, is 3" HDPRO has the default dimension as 6". Is there a way to set up dimensioning scales, so I can just select the scale, size of fonts, I want to use?
  2. y-g-m-n, I tried this. Here's are the different views to show how they're different, and the problem that I've been having. First pic is the Entry, as Garage. This shows the drop, as the concrete is raised at the door. Second pic is Entry, not as Garage. There's no drop before the door. I'm done with this, as the structural engineering plans already specify the drop locations. I’d like to thank everyone for taking the time to contribute.
  3. Yes, it's lanai. The lanai has a drop, just like the "entry" on a monolithic floor plan. Here's a picture of ours.
  4. I opened and edited Structure for the floor Lanai. The only option I see is Floor Finish. I set floor finish to -3-1/2". The floor did not drop 3-1/2", like the garage floor. Right now I'm having to set these types of floors: lanai, shower, front entry as garage and change the names.
  5. The garage has a default of negative 3-1/2" when the monolithic slab is created. How can I assign this to defaults for different rooms? I'm wanting my floor defaults for the house front entry and rear entry, monolithic slab, to be negative 3-1/2". Thanks.
  6. Eric, I'd like to thank you for helping. Although I couldn't find that particular post. I do automatic back-ups nightly. It was faster for me to reload the project from yesterday. Problem solved. Thanks again.
  7. Sorry to have to ask this? Where can I find all the postings I have asked? I've clicked my profile, but it's only listing recent postings. I know that I had this particular issue years ago, but instead of asking again, I just wanted to look it up from one of my previous postings? I tried the advanced search, by searching my forum name. But, couldn't find what I was looking for. The issue is the foundation is showing in the room.
  8. Thanks everyone for your help. When I started two years ago, I've read that you can't make tray ceilings in HDPro, that's how I got the soffit idea. y-g-m-n, I'll give this a try. Rookie65, I'll try the different ceiling heights. Two different ceiling heights worked. Thanks again.
  9. I'm using soffits to make a tray ceiling. On the right of the room the soffits join and you don't see middle lines, but the 30 degree walls, on the left, the soffits show all the lines. Can these be joined somehow, so it looks like one solid tray ceiling all the way around? Tray Ceiling.plan
  10. I'm so use to just pressing the space key to repeat a command in AutoCAD. Does Home Designer Pro have a key I can press to keep repeating a command?
  11. Rookie65, I've moved it on the x axis, like 60'. I was wanting to completely make them invisible without having to delete them. If I keep deleting them I have to reattach them and scale them, just for viewing. That's why I wanted to just turn them off, and in the future turn them back on.
  12. After importing a .pdfs, I'd like to hide them, so they stay in the drawing, but out of my way. I've read I can turn off the .PDF BOX layer. When I select the .pdf I do see that its layer is PDF Box. In layers there is no PDF Box layer. How else can I turn the .pdfs off?
  13. FYI- I've selected a wall, then Marquee Select Similar, Select All Similar. But, all the walls get selected.
  14. Over-time, I have changed wall types. Therefore, when I copy/paste and existing drawing into a new drawing I keep getting multiple wall types with _2, or _3 after them. I have selected Delete All Unused walls not used, but since they are being used they won't delete. I have constantly used the object eyedropper to change the walls, then reselect Delete All Unused walls. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. Is there a way to somehow be able to choose a wall, select all of those walls at once, then change them to the most current wall, so I can Delete All Unused walls again to get rid of them? Or, is there a better way? Here's a pic to show you. Thanks in advance.
  15. Thanks to both of you. I'll work with both your ideas.
  16. After extending walls to existing walls I have to select the longer wall, press the number 3 to break the wall, then I have to delete the longer portion of the wall. Is there a shortcut to this, instead of having to do three steps? Here's an example. On the bottom left of this garage the wall extends.
  17. I fixed the problem. I just re-drew the wall.
  18. I added it to the wall by clicking Material Painter and applying. I couldn't just undo it, as the file had been closed and reopened. I figured out how to get it removed by looking more into Wall Specification, Materials. I originally selected Wall Specification, Wall Covering. By choosing the Wall Specification, Materials, the Interior Wall Surface Said, "No Change." So, I selected it and changed it back to Drywall. Success! Thanks for your help.
  19. I did try that. When changing the wall material, it adds a line "of the material" through the middle.
  20. How can I just remove the tile, so the wall is back to drywall? I've added tile to a wall, but if I use material eyedropper, then material painter, all it does is change the color of the tile. Bathroom.plan
  21. If I select something, anything in the drawing, how can I see what layer it's on? I shouldn't have to pull up layers, click on the layers with a plus mark, then select OK to see if it was turned off. Since there's not an apply, to see if the selected object disappears, I then have to open layers again and do the process all over.
  22. David Jefferson Potter, I'd like to say thank you. Once I place my order for the software, I'll just export it to AutoCAD and do touch up work, But, at least the major parts of the elevations will be drawn in a faster time then having to manually draw them myself in AutoCAD.
  23. On a monolithic foundation there's a step down from floor to garage. When I specify the room as the garage, I can see in 3d (inside view) that there is a step down in the 3D drawing. But, on the elevation view the drawing looks like the garage floor is going UP. My question, why does it look like the garage floor level is higher than the house floor level? You can see the left floor lines are higher than the floor lines on the right. Pic 1: Floor plan Pic 2: Inside view Pic 3: Elevation, the garage is on the left side
  24. I've been looking at those plans to learn HD Pro, but I can't export anything to see how it appears in AutoCAD.
