Sorry, you won't be convincing me or anyone else in this thread to subscribe to HD. As I've said previously, I have been using HDP since 2016, and have upgraded every year. If I had not wanted to upgrade for some reason, I could still use my existing copy of HDP, plus still have access to all the Models I have constructed in the last 9 years. If I upgrade to subscription, and decide at some point that I no longer want it, or can't afford it, I will loose access to any and all previous models. This is the deal breaker. I'm sure CA will survive nicely by selling the subscription service to professional Architects who require the software for their line of work. The enthusiasts, like me and everyone else in this thread, who use it non-professionally, do not need it. And I bet there are a lot more of us then you realize. You can spin it any way you want, in the end it's just another money grab. I won't close by wishing you (the company) well, because I don't. I have invested literally thousands of dollars, and thousands of hours in your software, only to be crapped on in the end. PS. I don't know If you are an employee of CA or not, either way the sentiment stands.

Hi, I don't see anything in HDP labeled "3d Shapes". There is a section called "Shapes" but the included shapes will not do what I am trying to do. I've attached a photo of what I am trying to accomplish. I am looking to create the Vertical, Horizontal, and angled beams shown at the 1st & 2nd floor gabled roofs.

I am trying to create a vertical angled box beam, sort of like an inverted A frame, but I cannot see a way to angle shapes. Does anyone have any ideas?

Even if the subscription price is at, or lower than normal upgrade costs, keep in mind that if you go subscription, and then decide to unsubscribe, you will loose access to the program. This is a deal breaker to me, and I suspect many more folks are of like mind.

I absolutely hate subscription services. The idea that I would have to continually pay for software every year, or it will stop functioning, really sticks in my craw. I will not do it. I sincerely hope this decision comes back to bite them in the you know what.

I've purchased HD Pro every year since 2014. I will not go to a subscription service. I do not make my living by designing homes, the software is strictly for my personal enjoyment. There are other non-subscription options available. Chief Architect has seen the last of my money.

OK, got all roof planes moved to upper floor but this did not get rid of the double roof view I get in Perspective Full Overview. I am open to further suggestions.

I've got the roof planes selected but can't seem to find the Display On Floor Above icon.

What I am trying to do is slope the top floor roof all the way down to encompass the 1st floor. I don't want a double roof.

Hi, and thanks for the tip on signatures. I did check ignore top floor but then the upper floor will not show in Doll House view, just Perspective Full Overview.

Hello all. I need some help modeling my roof. I have added a second floor over the garage but It created a double roof. See the attachment. I am trying to create a single roof over the whole house but everything I've tried does not work (rebuilt roofs & roof planes, changed 2nd floor height, reset plan to defaults - done all of these numerous times). I've searched the forum but could not find anything that would help. Any ideas how I can eliminate the the lower roof? I'm using HD pro 2019 build 20.3.0.54x64.
