Imported 3d object not inserting into cabinetry

Hiya. I have created a sink with mixer in Sketchup which I want to place into my island. I can place it correctly and set the height but it doesn't create a cutout like one from the existing catalog. YOu can see the difference in the image attached. I tried exporting it as different 3d model versions, but they all have the same problem. Is there a fix for this? Thanks.
