bobsaunders
Hi all, I'm using HD Suite 2015, and am trying to create a porch between 2 gables, with a shed roof at a 3 in 12 pitch. Example 1 shows the basic idea. Example 2 shows the best I can come up with. Example 3 is the specification for the front deck railing. I've tried various settings, including changing the room from a porch to a deck to unspecified, changed the railing specifications, but the results all seem to be about the same. I've changed the pitch of the lower and upper portions of the porch, the pitch of the main roof, and so many other things that I've just run out of possibilities. It may be that I'm trying to do something the program isn't capable of, but I suspect it's more the operator (me!) Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, Bob
bobsaunders
Sorry, I should have attached the .plan file. 2014.09.24 56x32 2 gable.plan
Kbird1
you might have to explain the issue more , pic 2 looks pretty much right except for the small hips on the sides ...you need to set the side walls of the porch to full gable, if not you'll get hips automatically over those walls as seen.... your posted plan doesn't have a roof over the porch at all ? but turning it back on and setting the sides to full gable looks right to me , unless I am missing something? bobsaunders
Thanks Kbird1 for your reply. I set the side rails as you said to full gable, and that cleared the overhang or hip problem. They by adjusting the roof pitch and upper pitch starting points I was able to line up the roof lines. thanks again for your help. Bob
