  1. Attention all design enthusiasts! We are thrilled to announce the finalists in our Design of the Year Contest. As you may know, each month, we hold a design contest for our customers to showcase their incredible work. This year, we have received an overwhelming amount of submissions from talented designers worldwide with diverse backgrounds and unique design styles.

We have compiled the winning designs from each monthly contest into three categories: Kitchen/Bath & Interiors, Residential, and Remodel/Additions. Now, it's time to vote for your favorite in each category. Your participation will not only help us determine the ultimate winner, but it will also show support for these talented designers and their hard work.

To learn more about the finalists and cast your vote, visit our Blog.

  8. Hello,

I don't have a release date for the CertainTeed catalog update, but there is an easy way to add new CertainTeed colors to your Home Designer.  If a new color is not available yet in our catalog, you can use the Color Chooser tool in Home Designer to sample the color from the manufacturer's website.  You can then apply the color to the siding so you can visualize the new color.  Here is a link to a training video that shows how this works.

The video demonstrates the color chooser, starting at 2 minutes and 45 seconds.

    Kind regards,

  11. Hello,

Thank you for the question.  The change to subscriptions for Chief Architect products on Jan. 10, 2023, will not affect Home Designer products unless you are planning to upgrade your Home Designer Pro to Chief Architect.  If you upgrade to Chief Architect by Jan. 9, you will upgrade to a perpetual license of Chief Architect.  If you upgrade to Chief Architect on Jan 10 and beyond, you will be upgrading to a subscription of Chief Architect.

Please feel free to call or email with any questions.  208.292.3400 or sales@chiefarchitect.com

    Kind regards,

  12. Hello Brian,

Thank you for the question.  If you are in the middle of a big project, I would recommend delaying the OS update.  Although moving to a newer OS does not typically cause problems, the newest OS that HD Pro 2021 is supported on is Big Sur.  This means you would be updating to an unsupported OS with Monterey (one newer than Big Sur).

I hope this helps.  Feel free to reach out to us with any questions at 208-292-3400.

    Kind regards,
