  1. Yes, I did try that both of those but it had no effect on the ceiling result. I think it is because the half-walls are parallel to and very close to the main walls. They don't cause a problem when they are perpendicular, or some distance away from the main walls.
  2. Thanks, that looks promising - I'll give it a try. EDIT: that worked very well, thank you. P.S. the reason I used half-walls is due to this article: http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00886/
  3. I have a set of cameras set up around my project, named appropriately. When I edit the active camera for each one, I see that all settings are "default". The mouse wheel appears to zoom the camera, however I can find no way to reset this zoom to the default, and the settings on the camera all still show default after zooming. After a while, the zoom becomes so distorted that I end up having to delete the camera and create a new one. I find it very difficult to manually restore the correct zoom, so is there a way to reset the camera zoom? I'm using Home Designer Suite 2015.
  4. I built a cradle for an acrylic bathtub with four half-height walls. I placed this into a room, but the half-height walls appear to affect the ceiling (with moldings removed) and ceiling moldings: Holes in the ceiling (shown as blue) that seem to align with the two far half-walls of the cradle: Molding follows the holes, instead of the room walls: Is there a way to prevent these half-height walls from affecting the ceiling? If not, is there a better way to build a bath cradle? I'm using Home Designer Suite 2015, build 16.4.1.20OSX.
  5. Thanks, seems more like a major bug report than a feature request though - why would anyone want the skybox to be fixed to the camera rather than the model?
  6. I wasn't able to find a discussion on this topic already, however I feel it's a reasonably guess that I'm not the first person to bring this up. Is there a way to control the camera in a classic first-person-shooter style? That is. you point the view where you want to go with the mouse, use WSAD to move forward/backward, slide left/right, perhaps even "fly" up/down, and maybe change field of view with mouse scroll wheel? I've used a few other programs that had support for this style of camera navigation, and it was really nice to work with. It was also a natural way for others to explore my designs using a 3D space navigation scheme they were already familiar with. Attempts to navigate by people unfamiliar with the software but want to view the model are frustrating for both viewer and navigator (not always the same person). Unfortunately I also find all of the Home Designer cameras really difficult to use, and I've spent a fair bit of time with them now and it's not getting any easier, so I'm hoping there's some secret setting or combination of settings that will actually make things less frustrating for myself and those who view my designs.
  7. I have noticed when creating walkthrough videos that the outside backdrop (skybox) seems to be fixed to the camera orientation, rather than the plan. This means that when the camera pans to one side, the backdrop moves outside the windows of the house, as if the house is rotating around the camera! It's quite unusual and clearly not correct behaviour. Is there a way to lock the backdrop to the plan for less nausea-inducing walkthroughs? I have Home Designer Suite 2015, 16.4.1.20OSX.
