  1. Pretty sure you are right, Kbird1. I don't see it as an option on Architectural.
  2. Oops! Looks like the first time that "convert polylines" to solid objects is in Chief Architect Lite. Is that correct? Since my software is Home Designer Architectural, I must find another solution. Maybe the combersome approach I took is the only one in my version of software. ... I took another look at the post from Rich and it looks like Home Designer Pro can do it. I guess I could have someone confirm that Pro is the first time you can convert polylines. One additional question... If you can't convert a CAD element to an actual structural piece, what are the uses of the CAD elements in versions that don't have the conversion capability?
  3. I am trying to create a quarter circular area that is enclosed so I can cover it with a brick material. I ended up using a driveway area and fooling around with the rectangular result with the line to arc tool until I had facsimile a quarter circle. Is there a better way of doing this or a procedure that makes this a cleaner operation? I had to start over once because I had so many break points that it was a real mess. Also, are there mirror and flip, type tools that would make creating mirror images of odd shapes easier. See what I have done in the attachment to get an idea of some of the things I am trying to do.

    Flared walkway

I am using Home Designer Architectural How would I flare a walk or stepping stone path (like a Y-see attachment).
  5. I am using Home Designer Architectural In 3D view you have a "fat" 4 arrow cursor control to move the model around. If I use tools such as the eyedropper or spray can, the 4 arrow cursor is replaced by those tools. If I select the selection tool after using these tools, that apparently is not the way to get the 4 arrow control back. How do I get the 4 arrow 3D control cursor back?
  6. I am using Home Designer Architectural. I have used layers in many other programs, but I am having trouble understanding how Home designer layers work. I have 2 terrain features that overlap. Since they are terrain features, I think they are considered to be on the same layer, but they don't act like it. I put in a terrain feature of a cobblestone area and later put in a terrain feature of just ground cover that I wanted underneath the cobblestone feature. That is the way it turned out, but I don't understand why. Usually in the other graphic programs I have used, the last item entered went on a layer that covered the previous item that was on a layer below and if you wanted to change it, you would have to reorder the layers. How do I determine the layer (or more probably the order) of what is on top of what? Is there a video, discussion, webinar or something that reviews this and makes this clearer?
