Thanks a lot Jo_Ann for your kind help, but it didn`t work .. Thers is no flat ceiling anywhere on the loft. Your height zero is 1800 mm and the other knee wall is 1100 mm, same as railing. Can`t really see what I\m doing wrong. .. One should thing that it would be only to make the roof first , then the terrace area as a room, then select and choose "No roof above " and "No ceiling " but no. But I`ll keep on trying :-)

Hi ! Trying to make what I thougt was a simple terrace in the loft , and cut away the roof above. Been trying for hours without getting there. This is a house with a walkout basement , 1st floor and a loft with knee walls with different heights, 1000 and 1800 mm so the roof is a saltbox. The terrace is on the side where the hip wall is 1000 mm which should correspond with the height of the railing. See enclosed phto from a fairly similar project and enclosing av photo of my design in progress as well. No matter what I do I just cant get the roof right. Tips or help would be gratly appreciated !

I am using Home Designer Architectural 2020 , I am trying to create one large beam (truss) with one beam in top and one in bottom and fill with beams at 45 degrees angle, see enclosed photo, Is there a way to do this in HD Architectural 2020 ? This truss wil be placed at foundation and holding up the facade on forst floor, see enclosed hand sketch of facade.

Hi to this great forum ! ! I am using Home Designer Architectural 2020 , I am trying to create U - stairs without a landing, the stairs are just winding instead. Seems there is no way I can do that automatically ? Do I have to create the stairs from scratch and anyone know how to ? Enclosing a picture of the staircase.
