Basically what I want to do is frame a rectangle building 30' wide and 40' long with a truss roof and a 6/12 pitch. Trusses running parallel with the 30' width.
Then I want to add a 24' wide section that intersects the center of the 40' wall but this section will be a 12/12 pitch and stick framed.
I see the overbuild checkbox but how do I get the software to frame the 24' wide roof on top of the trusses of the 6/12?
I realize that the pitch difference causes issues because the 12/12 roof will be higher at the peak than the 6/12 and will need to be cut back and the 6/12 framed up from the opposite side to meet the ridge.
I can manipulate the roof sections to mate up but in the framing view it has it framed up with valley rafters instead of overbuilt.
The attached file is a drawing I created when I had the trial version.plans.bmp
The software changed the trusses where the roofs intersect into a stick frame with valley rafters rather than an overbuild on top of the trusses.
I know I can frame it, I just don't know how to get the software to draw it.
Is it even possible with Home Designer Pro?
