Hi Eric, Thanks so much. To answer s few of your questions. 1. The location is in Casper WY on a 10 acre lot we purchased 2 years ago. My son and his wife live there and we now live in Colorado. This is a picyture using Google earth. When you zoom in you will see the lot and that it slopes down toward the City of Casper and we will have a view of the entire North Platt River valley from west to east. Behind the lot is Casper mountain, straight to the south. 2. The plan with a garage under and a apartment over it is just an interim solution to affording a full size home. It is the back garage to this plan modified to be bigger and to have an apartment over it. We can only go and visit 5-6 times a year. Having our own place to stay while visiting was the impetus for this smaller plan. 3. You are correct that the picture and the plan were different, the plan missing all the furniture, cabinets etc. . That's because the plan was over 15mb with those things. And as the forum stipulates "Max total size: 14 MB". 4. I was able to follow your instructions and fix the back wall. But the corner is another issue. I believe I will need to start from scratch. When I drew the first floor I wanted the solar shed in the back to have the bricks on the inside against the house as a fire wall for the solar LiFePo4 batteries But the program wont let you do that As you can see in the BIG House Plan, I just gave up and moved it away from the house. I have a similar issue with the apartment over the garage. I wanted the wall between the RV garage to be brick all the way up through to the second floor to support the bricks as you pointed out in your video on the second floor. Any way I enjoy doing this and really appreciate your help!

On the second floor living room/kitchen area on the north wall I have 4 Fixed Glass Windows in the north wall of the plan. For some reason the window does not penetrate through the entire wall. It shows OSB in the window. In the kitchen area I have a window in the same wall which shows through to the outside. Any hints? HI Eric, I was able to build the plan from your suggestions (build a second floor and reduce the ceilings) but ran into another issue. I reduced the 2ed floor ceiling to that of the first floor height. I looked OK but then when I added a door into the bonus room I was faced with a brick wall. I was able to delete it bu placing a camera into the bonus room and and clicking on the wall (it was labeled an attic wall. Is that the correct way? Also I really want the second floor wall that faces the west to be a full gable so the west wall eliminates the hip roof (shaded) in the picture. What is the proper procedure to do that?

I am trying to build a RV Garage to the left of a two car garage. The RV Garage has walls 14' and the 2 car garage has 12'walls. I added a 2 floor over the whole thing but really only want a floor over the RV garage so I get an attic room over the RV Garage. That way I can have a large storage room in the Attic over the RV Garage.thats accessible from the small house over the 2 car garage. There are several things I cant figure out. I do not want 2ed story walls over the RV Garage but because I put s second story over the RV Garage now when I build a roof it actually cuts off the first story walls. I also added a 2ed story with walls over the 2 car garage for the house and a third story over that without alls incase I needed a stairwell over the small starrs to get into the bous room over the RV Garage. I have attached a plan as stated above and a picture of the roof I wanted however this picture is from a plan that has no floor over the RV Garage only the ceiling. (the roof is good but I couldn't get to the bonus room in the attic over the RV Garage. ) If someone cares to take a look and tell me what to do I would appreciate it. I am a novice but like to learn. RV Garage Plus 2 car garage under 2ed floor house over the 2 car garage-3.plan

First Thank you all for the responses. Second I was going to contact a professional to get the plans professionally done. I will review the suggestions and tips in the AM and look at posting it on houzz.com as suggested too. I was merely trying to get a head start in my floor plan and use it to discuss it with my wife. Again Thanks

I have been working on this plan for awhile. There are many things that I need some help on or to learn more about. I am a newbie,. 1. Vaulted Ceilings in the great room and the dining room. I would like to have glass all the way up on the north side for these two vaulted ceilinged 2rooms. 2. I wanted the vaulted ceilings to extend out over their respective porches and be open in the out the end of the vault. 3. Some of the exterior walls extend bricked into the Attic. I redrew them but can't get it to stop doing that. 4. On the roof over the front of the house which faces south, I will be installing Solar Panels which will be used to power the house. I plan on using LiFePo4 Batteries and wanted an ongrade slab floor room behind the Auxiliary Garage. But I couldn't figure out how to put a 3 sided room against the back wall of the Aux Garage. 5. I grew up in a house in California in the 50's that was built built in the 30's that had a stepped ceiling with 2 steps around the outside of the ceilings of the rooms. only for the rooms that are not vaulted. I would like to do the same but haven't got a clue how to accomplish this. 6. I haven't started looking at the Attic but I am sure that will also lead to more questions. That's it for now. I appreciate any and all help. JK-12.zip

I tried to select it in the floor plan view but it always selects the lower wall. I looked at all the wall spec and attic wall is not checked. The framing pic is 180 degrees from the floor plan. The Great room is vaulted but not the master it has a flat ceiling. I deleted wall and redrew it and the above wall is gone now. Thanks for the tip

I can't figure out what this is or how to get rid of it.
