  1. @Rookie65 - That indeed was the issue. I had specified the space as a deck before, but when I moved a couple things around, something got broken. I had to change it to something else, then back to a deck and then it worked. I assume this was a glitch that I discovered, but certainly annoying. Thanks for your input!
  2. When I add a deck onto an area of the design, I am getting a crazy soffit issue where it appears to free float several inches directly above the deck and on the deck roof itself. I am not sure how to fix this as the other areas/decks do not have this issue. I have tried rebuilding the roof but that doesn't resolve the problem. Any suggestions would be fantastic!
  3. @Rookie65 - It looks like the custom shape of the landing works the best in this case. Thank you for the suggestion. It would be nice if the program would allow for angled stairs like that and add the baseboard and railing options for it. But this is the best method it seems. Thank you again!
  4. @Rookie65 - Interesting idea with landings. I will try that as well! I started working your custom counter concept and that does appear to work well, but haven't checked for the material list yet. I will do that tonight or tomorrow and also try the landing idea and report back. Thanks so much for your suggestions and help!
  5. @Rookie65 - Thank you for your response. I will give that a try and report back. While I am working on that, I had a thought... Wouldn't that also throw off material lists, etc.? Because then it would call for counter top material that isn't actually in the build. It might seem like a small nuance, however I am trying to find the best way to realize accuracy with a design to see how I can leverage the material lists for ordering and estimating.
  6. Greetings! I am in search of an answer and not finding what I need. I have an entryway that has an angled set of stairs going into a living space and when the stairs hit the wall on the angled side, there's a gap showing. I want the stairs to come all the way to the wall and cut off flush at the angle. This means the stairs will have to be cut at an angle to lay flat against the wall on the left, but I cannot replicate that concept in Home Designer Pro. Please see the pictures to know what I am getting at. I found the "wrap" option to connect the two sets of stairs together, but the stairs on the left either fall short, or go through the wall. Please help!
  7. Thank you for that rough sketch of tools/process you might follow. That is very helpful so as I am watching the videos I can understand the big picture better with that in mind. I appreciate the guidance. I will likely return with more specific questions but I will open a new thread for that. Thanks!
  8. I started by building using the foundation wall tools and then used the mono slab build option to place a 6" slab over it. I will definitely watch and continue reading some guides, etc., however maybe a better question would be the following: Given that the foundation is already poured, can I even build this into Home Designer Pro so I can use the existing measurements and foundation as a starting point for the build? Or do I build the walls and layout first, then work the foundation/slab afterwards? Do I need to consider an upgrade to Chief to accomplish this? Essentially I am seeking a proper workflow process for how I should build it in Home Designer Pro since I have an existing foundation I need to work from. Thanks
  9. Added to my signature, and also familiar with Forum etiquette. Hopefully I can get some ideas on what I can do to accomplish this design soon. Thanks!
  10. Greetings! I am new to Home Designer Pro, so still learning! Okay, so I will do my best to explain my issue... I have a slab that is already poured (photo attached). I need to get Home Designer Pro to work with this somehow, but not sure how to do it. As you can see by the screenshots, I have the slab created to the exact measurements of the currently poured slab. GREAT! But what I am confused about is how to make the walls look like the rendered picture from a different program called Live Home 3D which was used to create the concept of the addition before I discovered Chief and Home Designer Pro. The rendered picture shows a drop down where I will place stairs into the living space. What I need to do is have a wall that sits on top of the elevated portions of the slabs. You can see where I added a wall and it goes right through the raised slab area. Essentially it looks like the wall is binding to the main slab, but the raised slabs I created seem "invisible". Maybe I need to make the slab differently to reflect the elevation change on the walls? The transition will go from 8' walls, to 10' walls, etc., but the wall headers will remain the same level. Also you can see the small rectangle on the lower right corner where the Home Designer version is raised, but actually need it to be a 6" drop to match the slab, and I can't get it to do so. Any assistance would be great! Thank you, Kevin
