  1. Ok, thanks that works, though not as convenient as I'd hoped. I was hoping that I could "permanently" set just the texture of the walls, and then be able to use the spray can tool to paint the walls different colors to quickly see what each one looks like with the texture in place.
  2. For some reason, I can't figure out how to have textured painted walls. I edited the walls and changed the material to the texture that I want (Pebble Dash Light - Eggshell). The walls look exactly like I want the to, except for the color. As soon as I paint a color on the walls, I lose the texture. I tired editing the wall. In the "materials" section, I tried adding the "Pebble Dash Light - Eggshell" in one box and the paint color in the other box, but it won't let me do it. It only lets me choose one or the other. As soon as I choose the second material, the first one goes away. What am I doing wrong?
  3. I found a color on the Benjamin Moore website (HC-182 Classic Burgundy) that I want to see in my model (I'm using Home Designer Architectural 2022). I know I had already imported the Benjamin Moore catalog, so I looked in my software. I was unable to find that color by searching, and when I browse, I see that the "HC" color numbers only go up to 174. I double checked, and I definitely installed the X14 / 2023 file. Since we're only 1 1/2 months into 2023, I find it hard to believe that Benjamin Moore only added this color in the last few weeks. Any idea what's up?
  4. I am trying to model the room that is shown in the attached photograph. In the back left part of the room, the wall goes straight up 58", and then slopes up and to the right to the ceiling at about a 45 degree angle. I can't seem to figure out how to make the model do that in the software. I am using Home Designer Architectural 2022. I have also attached the 2D and 3D view of what I have done so far in the software. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  5. Yes, this is my first time building a deck, and I do plan on having someone sanity check it (probably a friend who is an architect). It's going to be awkward showing him screenshots of a the 3d view, if I have to maneuver the camera a bunch of times to get views showing all the relevant details. I was expecting that the software was going to generate something resembling usable building plans that I could bring to him.
  6. To know what pieces go where when building it.
  7. I am using Home Designer Architectural 2022. I bought the program to help me design a deck. I have finished designing my deck. I have figured out how to generate a materials list for my deck. I can view the deck framing by making the deck planks invisible in 3d view. What I can't figure out is how to relate the items in the materials list to what I'm seeing in the 3d view. When I see a particular board, etc. in the 3d view, how can I tell what item from the materials list that is? Or when Put another way, what goes where? In the materials list, on SOME of the items, if I right-click on it, there is an option for "Find Object in Plan", but when I choose that, it highlights a very general area of my plan in the 2-D view, which does not even show individual components. For example, if I do this for a Stair Stringer, all it does is highlight the entire staircase. Yes, I know what a stair stringer is, but for other things, it's not very helpful. What am I missing? Thanks, Joe
