About Me

I was a commercial advertising photographer for over 40 years in Manhattan, specialties including jewelry, home furnishings, liquor, special effects  and people illustration. Computing/programming skills since the mid 1980s. I consider myself an amateur architect with a passion for old houses. DIY skills include carpentry (framing, finish, carpentry), masonry, electrical, plumbing, painting/plastering, etc. I have been doing drafting and house plans since my teens and have been using various CAD programs for about 3 decades. My current software is VCADD for 2D and Home Designer Architectural 2021. I have build my 1865 brick colonial house in Home Designer and have designed the plans for our new kitchen in it also. I am currently building my 20 year old son's new house in Home Designer to help him with renovations and decorating.
