Why the discrepancy in the Support Instructions and my program? I did it years ago with the same program and now it doesn't seem to work.

I have done that and it only gives the appearance of "dusk." I am looking for a dark night sky.

I am trying to create a night scene to see my drawing in 3D at night. I went to the Home Designer Pro Support page and it gave me information on editing the active camera. It says to "uncheck sunlight." When I go to my edit active camera, on my program, I do not have the option to "uncheck sunlight." I am including two screen shots below showing the support page, and my screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hello, I am trying to use any lighting to create "uplighting" in a cabinet. I have tried using every conceivable light (a puck being the light of choice) but I can not find a way to turn them upside down so they shine up. Any help would be appreciated. I am using Home Designer Pro 23.4.1.OSX Thanks!

Is there someone with more knowledge that can help me? That is unacceptable. You are asking me to upgrade to something that i don't need, and also would have to learn. There should be a better, easier answer than this. Should I ask the question again to the forum and let someone else answer? Erich

Hi David, How can I get the lines to be removed in the Vector camera view? In the Standard camera view you do not see the vertical lines that delineate a setback etc. It is very frustrating. Erich

I am working on a plan that looks just great when I view it in perspective or any other camera view. However, when I view it in "Cross Section/Elevation" view, there are all these mysterious vertical and horizontal lines that appear that do not show up in any of the other views. At first, I thought they were walls that were not aligned properly with the walls below or above. I have gone through the entire drawing and used the "align with wall above/below" buttons and thought that would take care of it. It doesn't. I have attached two pictures with circled areas that are problems. These are only views from two sides, but the problem is the same on all four sides. I have also included a picture in perspective view to show that the lines do not show up. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I know this is not a huge issue but it is annoying. I created a terrain perimeter and now my cursor has this terrain image attached to it. I have never seen this in all the years I've been using Home Designer. Does anyone know how to get rid of it? I have tried saving my work and closing the program, etc., but it is still there. UGH. I definitely do not understand what I am looking at. So, is this three stacked roof planes clipped down to say (for argument) 1" on all sides, adjusted to say 4 pitch and then a flat roof inserted in the center?

Not working for me... I clicked "Square" and nothing happened. I of course clicked OK. But went back to snap this image.

But how you you "angle" the actual ends (face/fascia) I cant seem to figure that part of it out. Thanks for your reply!

I am curious how I would angle the fascia on a roof design. I have attached a picture showing what I am trying to do. I think the vertical is easy...just stack three roof planes. Maybe there is a better way for that as well? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I figured out how to do it with just a beveled edge countertop. Thanks for your help. Erich

I tried that and it keeps giving me an automatic overhang. When I try to adjust the slab to the edge of the countertop, it keeps extending the countertop automatically. Is there a way in the Custom Countertop preferences to remove the overhang? Thanks!

Thanks for the answer David. Yes, it does work, but it makes everything look horrible. It changes the colors of everything. Everything looks incredibly harsh. I'll keep working on it. Thanks again!

I am having issues with lighting. Sometimes my interior lights are on, sometimes they are not. I have looked at the "adjust lights" in the menu tab and it shows that all the lights are on and creating shadows. Some lights create a light spot on the floor while others don't, even though they are the same (copied and pasted) light fixtures. The dining room chandelier I have chosen does not give off any light at all no matter what I do to it. Same for a hanging light in my stairwell. It is VERY confusing and there are no tutorials available on this subject...just how to place lights and add switches etc. I have read many posts that this is an issue with Home Designer. Slowdowns are sometimes a result of a symbol, or several symbols. If I delete everything out of the plan; furniture, lighting, exterior lighting, it goes back to normal. According to the Home Designer website, my computer exceeds all the requirements needed. I have 32 GB of memory, graphic card with 4GB, 4GHZ Quad-Core Intel Processor. The other thing is, the whole plan file is only 59 MB It's a mystery to me...

No. But this is the most complete plan I have done. I have added furniture, lighting etc. When I turn off furniture in preferences it gets better, but whats the point? Shouldn't one be able to see the design with furniture and lighting in place?

Hi there, All of a sudden, as of yesterday, whenever I try to use any camera view, the program slows down and it takes about 5 minutes to render a view. Then, if I try to move the camera in the view it is impossible. This has never happened before. I have a MAC running Catalina with a 4GB video card. I have no other programs open on my computer except a web browser (Google Chrome). I looked at the help window in Home Designer and followed the steps they suggested and it didn't help.
