  1. I am having trouble filling in the side of my stairs, which protrude into an open doorway. As you can see from the photo labeled "Plan 1", I have a 12' doorway leading into my family room from the entry foyer. You can see that the stairs are open on the living room side. I then created a railing for the stairs, with a pony wall underneath to follow the stairs, per the instructions in one of your videos. After creating the rail and supporting wall and putting it into its proper place, the stairs and railings looked great, but my 12' doorway seems to have disappeared. See the photo labeled "Plan 2". All that is left of it is a 12" section abutting the front wall of the house. The "doorway" section above the open doorway has disappeared, along with all of the molding that would be associated with a doorway. The photo labeled "Actual" is a picture of the actual room and the result I am trying to achieve. Is there a workaround for this problem? Am I using the wrong method to achieve the result I want? A zipped file of my actual Plan is also attached. I am using Home Designer Pro 2021, just in case it doesn't appear with my request. Buckskin-2ndTryAgain-1.8-Painted.zip

    No garage floor

As is usually the case, the longer you work at it, the more likely you are to solve the problem. I tried deleting walls and re-doing them; disconnecting and reconnecting. At one point, half the garage had a floor and the other half didn't. Eventually, the entire garage had a floor. I still have no idea what actually solved the problem. I have attached the first version of the new plan I made that shows the garage with no floor. That might be the simplest one to use to try to figure out what's wrong. Thanks again for your patience. No garage floor

I am having an issue with the floor of my garage. I created a floor plan for my house, but I was having issues with my staircases. The garage was just fine. So, I decided to start over with an entirely new project. After creating my first floor, basement, and second floor on my new project, I noticed that in the camera views in my new project, my garage did not appear to have a floor. I checked the structural specs for the garage in both plans and noticed they were different. I tried to modify the specs on the new plan to match those of the old plan, but after setting the absolute values I found that when I changed the relative values, it changed the absolute values that I had just set. No matter what numbers I put in, I couldn't seem to make a floor appear for my garage. I have no idea what is causing the problem. Do you have a solution? I have provided screen shots of the floor plans, camera views and specs for both the old and new plans.

    Stairs disappearing

Thank you. That seems to have fixed that problem. I still have issues of a few railings appearing where there are none, but I'll work on that.

    Stairs disappearing

I am having an issue with my stairs. I have a three-story house, with a basement, first floor and second floor. I installed the stairs on the first floor leading up to the second floor, made a best fit, and then generated a stairwell above the stairs. I then created a set of stairs in the basement leading up to the first floor and made a best fit. At this point everything looked fine. I then clicked on the icon to generate a stairwell above the basement stairs. After doing this, looking through a camera view, my stairs leading to the second floor disappeared, and an opening in the first floor floor appeared with a railing around it. Looking at the first floor floor plan, the stairs still appear to be there, but there is a warning message that I have an off-angle wall. How can I fix my plan so that opening the staircase above my basement stairs doesn't make my first floor stairs disappear?? Image 1 shows what my first floor looks like before I open the basement staircase, and Image 2 shows what the first floor looks like after I open the basement staircase.
