  1. Thank you for this tip, it did resolve my issue.
  2. I recently transferred my HD Pro 2020 license to a new Windows laptop. I copied all the library files and my plan file appears to have loaded correctly. But when rendering there are weird shadows in it which I cannot seem to resolve. This new laptop as a 12th gen CPU and is running DirectX12. I followed the suggestions is KB-00106 without any success. What can I do to restore the rendering to the same as I saw on my old Windows laptop.

    Ditches and Swales

Hi Dave and thanks for taking the time to respond to my post. Your idea of making a ditch with splines or lines would make a pond I think as there would be no pitch. The water would just sit in the ditch. The ditch needs a pitch to cause the water to flow along its length. So for terrain I still do not know how this could be done in HD. Thanks for the tips on "Wedges" and notes in plan view. Those could work for components of the structure. -Paul

    Ditches and Swales

What is the best way to create ditches and swales in HD? I have used terrain lines which work well for some things but these tools have only one elevation that I can see. A ditch has an elevation at one end and another at the other so that there is a pitch to it to cause the water to move. Also a surface like a garage floor or parking area should have a pitch to it. There must be a better way than creating a bunch of small terrain lines. Can floors of buildings or parking lots be pitched? If so how?
  5. Thanks Eric for your response. How can I learn to correctly set my defaults?
  6. I built a porch off a garage side door by specifying a porch room with gabled roof line and then making the wall invisible. This approach seems to have worked OK but the porch room is changing the siding around in a strange way. See below. Suddenly there is green siding in mysterious places around the porch. What did I do wrong? PSB Design #2.plan
  7. Eric, Thanks so much for this help. I have learned that wall alignment is critical to establishing a room. -Paul
  8. Thanks for agreeing to take a look at this. I compressed and attached it. PSB Design #2.zip
  9. I have a plan with a deck. I used deck railings which formed a room and my deck appears. But by moving on of the railings slightly the deck room (and deck) dissappears. Very frustrating for a new user like me so I am hoping someone here can clue me in. Below the deck looks good. But if I move the railing one foot in the upper left the whole room becomes undefined.
