  1. I agree, it probably has something to do with user error. Hopefully tech support can help me figure exactly what I'm doing wrong. Definitely going to keep trying to figure it out. I love the program otherwise. thank you, Angie
  2. Yes, sometimes it does. Sometimes, nothing changes. I thought it was because I was just learning the program and was doing something wrong. But I'm starting to get the hang of it and it's still happening. Relieved to know you've never heard of it. I will submit to tech support. Thank you, Angie
  3. I just drew up new plan a few days ago and came back today to find more bizarre changes. A wall shooting through the roof. Random patches of altered building material. I went back and checked the archives like you recommended and my archived files are different than what was pulled up. Is this a tech support problem? Or is there something I need to be doing? Thank you, Angie Robshaw
  4. Commonly when I come back to work on my house plans something has changed. It seems to happen more often, the longer it's been since I opened them. I have tried checking the defaults to see if that was the problem. But the defaults are correctly set and things will change to something I've never even looked at (i.e. today I suddenly had knotty pin walls in random rooms) The wall type will change, the foundation will change in random spot, or room labels will be messed up. I get it all back to the correct specs and it happens again later. Is there something I am not doing that could be causing this? I always click save when I exit out of the plans, but is there another step I am missing to keep this from happening? Thank you, Angie Robshaw
  5. Another great option, but a different style than what I was going for. I wanted more cottage, less traditional. The house plans have already been approved thru the HOA, so I really can't completely redesign it.
  6. Solver, Yes, I am constrained by a narrow / small lot. That bathroom design is definitely the most space efficient, but I have difficulty cutting every corner. I add in the few things that are most important to me where I can. (tiny bathrooms make me crazy) I really appreciate all the suggestions. Measurements are fixed. Lowered the front pitch to 6. Love how it looks, but I'm not sure I did it correctly. Made a mess of the front porch trying to figure out how to add that break. I Just ended up deleting the front porch roof and I will get back to it tomorrow. Builder says no to moving the right side forward, so I am back to my original question. How to add a shed roof on the back porch? Thank you, Angie
  7. Yes, it is a great time to learn. I'm doing my best to learn as quickly as I can. I would like the shed roof to be over the back porch and run from front to back.
  8. Solver, your back porch suggestion is a good one, however this is a small spec house and the shallow shed is cheaper. We are sacrificing design for dollars, where it doesn't show as much. I think the break in the front side is a great idea, looks good and goes with the money saving M.O. Now to figure out how to do it...
  9. I am having trouble figuring out how to add a shed roof over the back porch. I have followed the instructions in the manual but it makes the main roof go crazy. Tried all different combinations of instructions but they all end messing up the main roof. I am using HD 2020. Thank you Angie Narrow_Plan_3.plan
  10. David, Thank you so much for getting back to me on a Sunday. Really appreciate it. Once I stopped trying to do it in layout I was able to figure it out. You saved me much wasted frustration. Angie
  11. I'm sure the answer to this dilemma has to be so simple, but I've messed around for hours and read endless posts and come up empty handed. When I send my house plans to Layout the dimension size is so small that it's almost unreadable. How can I adjust the number size? Thank you in advance, Angie
