  1. thank you Eric, I'm trying to place the 3D rendering into a photograph. so far I have used the Build/Image/Create Image, and set it to "Image Always Faces Camera". Ideally I would be able to set the terrain so that it acted as a mask, only showing the portions of the rendering that are above grade. I can also retreat to Photoshop, but seems like that would add time.
  2. Hi, is there a way to use the terrain as a mask? I would like my render a view of my house to show ONLY the house above grade without any terrain being rendered with it. thanks!
  3. @solver - thanks. Was installing the steel on our project the last few days : ) here is the sample. would love to know how to bet this right. THANKS! Brill sample.plan
  4. updated signature. thanks. attaching an example of how this issue is affecting my renders. hopefully you can see that the wall cap is sitting above the pony wall in the render here.
  5. hi all - I've been trying to hack my way through this one - albeit to no avail. As I understand it, HDP isn't supposed to have a configurable Wall Cap feature. But in my Pony Wall assembly it appears to be there as if I've added it - but I havent and would like to remove it. I've been through all the config screen that I can think of but so far I haven't found a way to remove the "Default Wall Cap". Any ideas would be appreciated. thanks!
  6. thanks so much! this looks great. Really appreciate you taking the time!!
  7. Hi, I'm a new user and recreating the plan of an existing house in order to experiment with some remodeling ideas. I need to add a cellar/basement door to a daylight basement. The basement door opens to the staircase landing. The landing should be directly in front of the basement door and the stairs should end at the level of the terrain. Then the Bilco door sits on the ground and covers the staircase which would otherwise be exposed to the elements. I think this is pretty standard stuff, and I've tried everything I can think of with terrain and foundation walls to create this but nothing seems to work. I've attached a view of the location in a rendering from my plan. Thanks in advance for any tips you might have.
