David, how do I customize a blank plan? All templates are the same - blank!! Reading help file did not help...

The templates delivered with the software package look to be empty. When I select a template File -> New Plan -> Choose Template nothing happens. I get an empty design. What could be wrong?

You are right, but I paid for this software and would expect it works. This would be acceptable with a free software. :-)

What am I doing wrong? I am trying to get and jpeg of 3D view of my plan. I thought I can use Edit - Copy region as picture and then drag the tool over the view. However the image in my clipboard is just a partial view. Is there another tool there to create the view?

Oh, good to know. I did not want to spend all the money before totally satisfied with the software. Will probably wait until a sale. Using it as a hobby.

Thank you for the quick answer. I tried glass railing but this is not exactly that what I need. I just need a regular interior wall but not going up to the ceiling. I am used to Sweet Home 3D and wanted to upgrade so I tried Home Designer Essentials. I am missing lots of models and features now but I have to admit, that the work is kind of easier.

I just started to play with the software but cannot see how to create a wall just 2 feet high. I need to divide a room. Thanks.
