What are you trying to raise -- the entire roof?

This obviously was not "solving" so Was this meant to be spiteful?

No doubt, but come on, a simple gable roof default is not an option?  

Gable roofs are incredibly common and simple to design.  It is an abject software design failure by design.  I am not here to start an internet war.  I realize I have been dooped and now I am moving on.

Seems hard to believe changing roof pitches is an "upgrade".    $300 to change a roof pitch is just short of stealing

You sir are correct.

According to the print there are two different roof pitches,  8/12 and 12/12.

I set the two wider walls to 8:12

When I try to change the two narrower sections to 12:12 I get the error.  I am doing it in 3D view by clicking on the gable wall and changing pitch.

I am a noob so please forgive my noobiness :)

I am trying to raise the roof height but keep getting the same error.  any suggestions? I would like mine to at least resemble the blue one.  LOL

I met with a builder and took a look at some land and it looks like i need a walkout basement.  That being said any suggestions on where i could put them in this plan?

I assume I start in the basement and add them and they will auto connect to 1st floor?

In floorplan view I try to increase the pitch but is is grayed out.  I will try to raise the height

Ok guys sorry to keep buggin you but I ma so close I do not want to make things worse 

I want all my roof heights to be the same.  I tried changing the pitch on the two gables but doesn't seem to change.  I would alos like to be able to fix the porch to have the same "timber" looking trim not a wall.  

I used the straight stair tool.  When I do this the stair meets 2nd floor perfectly but touch the first floor door.  If I adjust the bottom of stairs away from door the op of stairs do not meet snd floor

I deleted roof and rebuilt and seems ok

I fixed one thing an broke another  

I drew the second floor walls as reference I have not finalized 

I have created a simple Cape Cod and want the front two rooms to have a vaulted ceiling.  I uncheck ceiling over this room but nothing changes  It still has the default ceilings.

Ok gut some corner boards on  and color.  I have a box window and not sure how to trim that out.  Also the pic in the OP you see a trim board near the eave.  Can I get some help with that

two more quick questions. 

For some reason I can not select the roof to change the color.  I am in full pers, view and can change walls 

Walls how do I add trim to exterior walls?

I want blue shingles but it seems I can pick shakes/shingles but I cannot change the color

What I am trying to do is define the kitchen, dining and living room but there are no walls seperating them

Been gone forever but looking to design another house,

My first most basic question is how do I define rooms in an open floor plan?  obviously this effects the materials and that is what I need.

Ok now I finally figured out what my problem is.  All I had to do is ask my and she gave me a whole list.  Unfortunately none of them had anything to do with this drawing 

The issue is ( i think) is when i create the roof it adds to the walls so I get a full second floor when really the the short end of the walls should really be at floor level. and therefore I would not need the cricket

This is what I am trying to recreate so how do  I now fix my roof?  

Do I have to start with deleting all the second floor interior walls?

Should just be a full gable like the red line
