Reply from Technical Support: "Thank you for contacting technical support. Manual Dimensions do snap to the outside of the wall however they can be modified by selecting the dimension line and then grabbing the diamond at the end. You can slide the dimension to the area of the wall that you would like it to snap to." Why the dimensions would snap to the outside of an interior wall still does not make any sense, but at least it can corrected.

I have submitted a question to Tech Support and updated my Signature. If this is truly how the software works, then this may be the last time you hear from me.

You are making assumptions that are not true. See the screen shot below from my Home Design Suite 2018. Dimension parameters are almost useless!

New user of Home Designer Suite 2018 here. Apparently, Manual Dimensions inside a room will only stop at the outside of an outside wall for any product less than Pro, and it cannot be changed to the expected inside of the wall. Several references show this to be true. And this is not documented in any of the sales literature. This is unlike any of the other 4 products from other vendors under $100 that I have used. Is this true?
